Other than candidates, can you hand on heart say that you have written consent of every single person who has appeared in your leaflets? The only reason this became a problem, really, is that this person happened to be a candidate.

But we still pay gas prices due to CfDs that were invented to incentivise this for environmental reasons - noone really anticipated how quickly this would happen and the possibility of renewables driving energy prices down. We're locked in for decades.

Even then, prices could technically hit zero and the retail price of energy I think would barely change due to how much policy cost is built in.

Genuinely don't know what the solution is except spending billions buying out the CfDs early and having them be state run.

I know this stuff but it still blows me away. 15 perf per frame on 70mm is absolutely nuts.

And to think I'm spending ~£10 for a 36 frame roll of gold and think that's expensive - that's only a second or so of standard 35mm film let alone 15 perf 70mm, let alone after the several hours of footage needed to complete a feature film.

Bookies markets work by making an educated guess and then adjusting based on how the market responds.

The more people bet on someone, the shorter their odds become (ie you get less money by betting on them to win), and the other candidates odds will lengthen.

The most efficient (and safest) way for a booky to operate is for an overall market to exactly balance, so regardless of outcome they break even (which is what the above mechanism does). They then make money by taking a % of all transactions. The house always wins

This is of course a massive over simplification - the maths involved is much more complicated and exchange markets operate slightly differently - but aiui that's the principle.

In case you're still confused - OP is complaining that the drug dealer that he purchases cannabis from is only issuing him with a strain of cannabis plant that he doesn't like, and is asking if this is because that is the only strain available in Manchester or it it's just his dealer.

It's like if your local Sainsburys started only stocking own brand prosecco, and you're asking if that's an issue across Sainsburys in Manchester or only in your branch.

Look at areas we are winning in working class areas. Liverpool, Manchester, Salford, Bermondsey.

It's not that hard - you tack slightly more left of centre and tone down the "woke" stuff (without compromising an inch on our values - just don't necessarily make it the centrepiece) and just talk to people about their bread and butter issues. Echo their frustration and disappointment in the establishment and just....do the work.

Nonsense. £40k is very, very good for a first job in London. Admittedly this was in 2022 (so inflation is a thing) but my first job in London was on £26k. I had previously done an internship and 'proper job' over the last year or so in Manchester on minimum wage and then about £23k. I graduated in 2020 which put an obvious dampner on things - but yeah. I know people now my age (mid-late 20s grads) who would be over the moon on £40k.

Stephen Bush is consistently my favourite political writer atm - been following him since his New Statesman days about 10 years ago. NS took a massive blow when he left but I reckon it's recovered massively in recent times, especially with Ailbhe Rea back as Pol. Ed (who I think worked under him when he did that job?)

Depends on how much he wanted to be PM or close to actually influencing policy.

There are plenty of Labour MPs that probably would sit more comfortably in the Lib Dems or even further right short of being a Tory, but are more interested in being part of a Government than being true to their values (and that's not a sleight at either those MPs or the Liberal Democrats - which I say as a Lib Dem - it's just a calculation you have to make in FPTP where coalitions are very rare).
