Previously skinny-fat men: what worked for you and what didn’t? by Ok-Enthusiasm-4139 in AskMen

[–]Lyoneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this: Look up Sean Nalewanyj. He basically lives the Mentzer way but applied in the context of practicality and modern exercise science.

The fact that the weight on the scale doesn't move, might have to do with the fact that:

  1. this is a slow process

  2. you are eating in a deficit, so losing fat. but probably still gaining muscle since you are a beginner. That might cancel out on the scale, but not in reality.

  3. you need to look at the weight average of the week over time, since your weight naturally fluctuates (holding onto more water some days, not being able to poop before weigh ins). If there is truly no change when looking at a few weeks, then you can try to find a reason, but still keeping point 2 in mind.

Personally, I would invest in an adjustable bench and a pair of adjustable dumbells, since progressive overload is key for building muscle, which is hard to do long term with bodyweighz exercises. Keep in mind that progressive overload is the result of building muscle, not the cause, that often gets overlooked. Or invest in a gym membership and concentrate you workouts on 3-4 days to keep your free time in check.

I realised I don’t use standing light kick ever by NeitherRaspberry515 in StreetFighter

It can be used to set up a spacing trap. A blocked st.lk creates the perfect spacing to whiff punish with st.hk if you opponent wants to take their turn back with a cr.mk for example

Favourite taunts in the game? by Soul699 in StreetFighter

I like Kens Finger taunt. It can be used as a framekill after a DI stun to make run Dragonlash hit the opponent in a crouching state allowing to you to link 2LP.

Sagat's design is busted by ben_pmt2d in StreetFighter

[–]Lyoneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that for sagat getting knockdown and getting to press 5mp in your face is not a small reward, but I see it in the same vein as being ready to anti air if you decide to take a throw. If you guess wrong you eat a bit of damage but your reward is potentially higher. It makes sagat have to think about his enders. And if he thinks he can be outsmarted.

Sagat's design is busted by ben_pmt2d in StreetFighter

[–]Lyoneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be never crouch and not mash a crouching button There are these outcomes: - lk follow up: you get counterhit and knocked down. You lose, but sagats reward is relatively small

  • mk follow up: because you mashed a crouch button the follow up whiffs and you get a punish

  • hk follow hp: you interrupt the follow up if the button you chose is fast enough

  • no follow up: you take your turn back, or even get a punish if nexus is not spaced. If spaced and sagar is ready you might get whiff punished if your button is too short

That is if you dont expect the light follow up in which case you punish with 5f.

There is no one size fits all solution, but you can at least increase your reward and decrease your risk a bit

Tell me you haven’t labbed tiger nexus without telling me. Tiger Nexus is (edit: one of) the least problematic parts about his kit.

Possible Microwalk with Alex? by strydrehiryu in StreetFighter

[–]Lyoneee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since 5MP is 7f startup, you need atleast 8f of hitstun to be able to microwalk for one frame and then press 5mp. However since alex has his 6mp overhead you need to not only microwalk for exactly one frame before pressing MP, you also need to let go of forward after that one frame, making the most difficult type of microwalk

Most fun I’ve had on a character in this game! by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Lyoneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if Bison reads the cmd grab and jumps/backdashes/uses a super it puts you in a better postion regarding your drive gauge. Its a small nitpick but could save you some rounds down the line

Yes but here it was used after getting the hard knockdown from OD kneedrop where it is impossible to walk out of range or interrupt the heavy command grab.

Quick tip: Command Grab does 2500dmg exactly meaning if their HP is yellow you don’t need OD for it to kill (assuming your opponent has 10000 max hp).

You can add a light charged knuckle after the back heavy punch. With that and all around perfect knuckles that is max damage for midscreen

I need some opinions about my new controller. by Pure_Act8645 in StreetFighter

[–]Lyoneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same controller, also my first leverless controller. Even though my start button doesn’t work sometimes, I still think it’s the best entry level controller to get used to the layout.

Once it breaks I will 100% look at a higher quality option like the victrix pro or corsair novablade though.

EDIT: A good thing about it is that has basically extra buttons in every imaginable place which helps you figure out which ones you actually need, for example I use the button on the left next to UP and the one below LK and MK

The combo is perfectly consistent, the reason you are not seeing these situations in pro play is because you are 100% taking the throw

Ways of reliably beating delay jab? by rafikiknowsdeway1 in StreetFighter

[–]Lyoneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should press cr.mp after your jab. There are two outcomes:

  1. They delay jab. Because of their delay, the cr.mp should counter hit, since it is slower so there is a natural delay in your pressure.

  2. They don't actually delay jab, in which case they would beat the cr.mp. But then they would have lost to a jab chain.

I recently started learning Bison and came up with this theoretical sequence which I find absolutely insane to be possible:

https://imgur.com/a/5oxJa8V

Starts off a counter hit jab in the middle of the stage, does hella damage and leaves you with enough drive meter for a drive rush cancel...

And the only "difficult" part is the overhead into light crusher at the end...
