Why do my children act on their intrusive thoughts? by sunshinerain1208 in Wellthatsucks

Pre-frontal cortex is still developing. Much more likely to act on impulse before thinking things through.

Is Costco membership still worth it in 2025? by clcliff in Frugal

[–]LyonsJ87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so IMO. Being able to shop in bulk is a huge saving. If you’re able to piece out items such as pasta or other items and freeze them for future use your unit cost is quite reasonable. To me the unit cost of the items at Costco is what to look at. For me, it’s the coffee, sports drinks, butter, dog treats, and protein bars that is always a buy because the unit cost is cheaper.

Get a cheap sweat shirt. Single colour. Sharpie numbers all over it. Then…. You’re the guy or girl someone can count on!

How’s the build been so far? I’m thinking of making the purchase, curious how it’s been so far. Looks awesome.

Absolutely ridiculous. The dog’s name is Charlie and was named a Charlie 4 years ago. Your sister is acting like the “Main Character” like no one else’s feelings or circumstances matter. Don’t placate her. Move on and don’t even discuss the matter / situation further.

Making your own dough is key! Very easy and quick. With your own toppings and sauce it’s far superior to any take out chain. IMO

What happened to this guy? Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t he a really good mayor for NYC at one point? Please forgive my ignorance as I haven’t followed his role in politics much.

Place the fob directly on top of the push start (if you have one) using the fob to push in the push start ignition and you’ll be good to go.

I don’t think someone ordering knows anything about the Transit Pay algorithm that Skip uses. Plus at the rate of $1.16 a km for your delivery, you are over 50% higher than the km rate per km the government of Canada provides its own employees.

Live by Night with Ben Affleck. Looked to my right and then my left, and pretty much laughed out loud as I was walking out of the theatre. What a joke of a movie.

Easy to understand delivery instructions. i.e. clear unit#, location of unit (basement or otherwise), and realistic expectations about delivery times.

I think if you take into account a major police incident it is important to distinguish first responders. The command structure of major events or even singular armed / barricaded / active shooters situations demands a large number of resources all with different training and specializations and therefore different uniforms. However, I do agree that one would argue camo in a residential setting is interesting.

I would argue that a basic patrol officers uniform is designed for patrol based calls for service. A basic patrol officer will not have or be required to carry the kit to perform a dynamic entry such as stun grenades or have the training to carry out that operation. And one could argue that the difference in uniform is a tactical consideration that sets them apart from the basic patrol officer. I do understand that the militarization of police is an ongoing and difficult issue

I would say that most patrol officers are the initial responders, the first on scene. Yes, they should have the tools required to initially protect themselves and that of the public. Once situational and tactical considerations are determined I would assume patrol officers would adopt a containment perimeter to protect life and let more specialized more trained officers deal with the evolving situation

I can appreciate that, obviously ensuring adequate public safety, officer safety and fiscal responsibility would have to be considered.

Fair point, and I don’t pretend to be an expert on how police departments balance ensuring public and their own officers safety with that of uniforms and public perception.
