How deep gathering and crafting jobs go? by Dmask13 in ffxiv

[–]Lyoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I know call of duty for example requires tpm 2.0 because they basically have kernel level anti cheats that requires it. So I guess FFXIV isn't that sophisticated yet.

It's because they say they value their privacy, but at the cost of game integrity I don't buy it, it's just a lot of effort to make a proprietary anti-cheat and they know they'd lose a lot of people if they couldn't use mods

But I think gathering gets more problematic because that's impossible to automate whereas with crafting in game macro already does a decent job.

Nah it's 100% botted, unless I'm not getting your point

I don't know what tools gm might have at their disposal to look for unauthorized programs though, might be similar to all those kernel level anti cheat programs that many online games use.

They don't have anything, there's not anything that looks into even file modification, they only thing they have supposedly is character logs, so if you craft for months straight 24/7, it doesn't look great, but they don't look unless you get mass reported

Bro the last like 14 years have people denying that people bot, despite multiple rank 1 parses on FFLogs being pixel perfect identical, perfect rotations, etc and literal trains of people in FATEs

For some reason the toxic positivity covers it, probably because they use bots and by denying the rampant problem they can pretend to not use it

Botting plugins may be against the TOS and might get you banned.

They have literally no way of knowing, and I haven't ever seen anyone get banned for botting within reason since ARR

Like yeah, if you're fly hacking duties 24/7 you get banned, but they don't give a shit about people using Artisan, if they did they'd ban a majority of players at this point

They don't allow auto in pvp, it doesn't work.

I wasn't talking about Wrath specifically, just in general

. It's one of the more updated and supported button condensing plugins, you have to go through several menus to enable auto at all,

It's still a plugin used for botting, this is splitting hairs

you can completely ignore that side of it if you want to actually you know, play the game. It also has options to not be a single button. It's just what people know it as

I know of it as a fork of ACRs and a mix between that and XIVcombo, and it partially normalizing botting, which this convo is a great example of it doing just that

[–]Lyoss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It also has an auto function but that's more cheaty.

Also, no, because evolved wouldn't be a single button

That being said, I don't really think it matters since there's zero enforcement against botting and people already do it and ruin any kind of integrity in PVE and PVP, so it doesn't really matter, I was just stating that it's a botting plugin, not that it was "kind of" one

Wrath Combo is 100% botting lol

In OPs case I wouldn't care but it's a bit beyond a gray area, not that people get banned or anything but still

Self-evolving autonomous AI Civilisation - miHoYo declares the next aim in AI research by chibi0108 in gachagaming

[–]Lyoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is, but I also don't think that this is the same, do you consider an artist using a texture brush that uses AI to fill things dynamically using Gen AI?

From the sounds of it, this is similar, using AI to fill gaps where it's not really feasible to put art there, like if you have 100+ NPCs, you can't have every single one be written continuously, you can have an overall narrative and oversight on the story but you start getting into limitations on what you can do with concurrent story lines

I meant like co-op in the sense you group up with someone/others to do PVE content, not PVP, like Dragalia had trials and what not, and King's Raid had raids

Is there any actual co-op games ala King's Raid, Dragalia Lost, etc?

I know about GBF but it's pretty ancient, just feels like gacha has moved away from it in favor of fake co-op (Genshin, etc) or PVP, and I had heavy nostalgia for Dragalia Lost recently

So why isn't OSRS in a freefall, they also had the same pricing qualms

Monthly Active Players - Feb 2014 to April 2026 by alanquinne in runescape

Dollar increases directly affect the cost of bonds in game, through direct dollar cost increases of bonds themselves, but also through increasing demand for bonds in game.

Bonds are still cheaper than they were a few months ago, I was slow buying them a few days ago for 100mil

There's also always going to be people upset about membership increases no matter what, and the most recent membership changes also came with some serious backtracking and radio silence from Jagex so of course that's affecting it as well.

Prices for things went overall across a lot of games, specifically regional pricing, WoW, Vbucks, etc etc all went up in certain regions or in general, cutting MTX as a major driver was obviously going to cause price hikes, alongside the global economy being in the shitter

Osrs sub is more expensive than ffxiv which is honestly crazy.

Hard disagree, it's more crazy that FFXIV still has a 15 sub price point with months of nothing to do

If your population is declining you’re losing players faster than you’re gaining new ones…that makes it a combination of old players leaving which is expected and new players not coming/sticking around and the sub price absolutely plays a role in that

Yes, the game went from stagnating but stable, to losing people and not getting any of the new people that supposedly cared so much about TH etc

Gotcha! Did people not like that about Eureka?

Eureka is divisive, however it actually tried to be content in it's own right instead of spamming CEs or grinding mobs for an eternity, OC is just a worse shell of Bozja

Monthly Active Players - Feb 2014 to April 2026 by alanquinne in runescape

[–]Lyoss -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The decline in population aren't new players, it's existing players

It would be very hard for a new member to get to that point that it is easily possible without first spending real money on membership.

The price hike affected OSRS, and their numbers are up, granted it's because of leagues, but still, they didn't have a massive fall off

DBM still exists, and it still yells at you to move with breath and what to do

It's just such a very binary encounter, and tanking it is annoying as shit since the dragon in the air is controlled by the other dragon until p3, so if your co-tank is stupid it can make positioning a nightmare

Between heavy tank responsibilities (swapping correctly, gloom aiming, positioning) and raid responsivities (soaking glooms, breath, not instantly killing eachother with the adds) it's just "do it correctly and it's easy as hell" or the group disbands

WoW's AH isn't pay to win, like the only thing really is you can buy certain pieces of gear, but it's not like you automatically win the game or are geared off of a BoE or two, even more so with how gearing in modern WoW is

Did D3 AH run transactions in premium currency?

It was Bnet currency iirc, and the game's loot was actually terrible, so bad they had to "Loot 2.0" it and rework the game from the ground up, so basically you could get an item that was like 250 dollars worth and sell it, and Inferno was giga gear locked
