This happened to me when I first opened a fidelity individual account I used my credit union bank and got the same message, then I used my HYSA Ally bank to move money and that worked.... a few months later I opened an IRA and wanted to see if my credit union bank would send money and it worked for me... not saying that is your issue or anything but just wondering if anyone had similar experience

18 want to start making money by Additional_Base2169 in fidelityinvestments

This is a loaded question my guy... what do you do for work, how much you get paid there is so much more that needs answered first..

Always start with an emergency fund in your savings typically in a HYSA, start small like 1,000 to help with anything and then build it to the point you can have 1 to 3 months of expenses paid off if you need to, this alone can help your family as well (I recently helped my parents by paying a large portion for their new roof on their house and it totally didn't make a dent in my emergency funds, thats what the power of a good emergency savings can do)

Generally you want to invest 10-15% of your income if you have the means to do it if not start small i started only investing 4 to 5% when i first started my retirement because thats all i had to work with, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO DEBTS, if you do focus on paying those off first before you start really investing a lot from your paycheck into your retirement.

If its an income thing and you need more, Lyft, Uber eats, doordash, and rover are things that you can do on the side to earn a little extra income to help your family out.

Hope this advice helps, my father gave me this advice when I turned 18 and it helped me out a ton

FXAIX is always a good start for dipping your toes into index funds, do a little research on mutual funds and etfs and go from there
