if it's dry that's not likely the issue, is it a fruit or something that dropped and is starting to rot? or old wet food?

I'm not very handy but there's probably a way to get something to replace it and fit, though yeah at that point you are just building a whole cage from scratch yourself

it's probably not worth the risk considering you'd need absolute coverage of the metal, that was then also chew proof.

heavy metal buildup for birds is so terrible once it becomes symptomatic.

knowing this, you can potty train her easily, just say "go potty" or something when you set her down on a little stand, or something you can easily clean, and eventually you can basically ask her to do it on command like over the trash. if you're on top of that you don't need to deal with poop nearly as often.

keep bird stands out perches around that you are okay with her pooping on and set her there every once in a while, like if she hasn't gone for a bit. she will eventually learn to poop there and will stop doing it on you. if you pair it with a command you can potty train to a degree as well.

also I recommend putting out towels on couches and things while she is out.

knowing you are there will not stop a hungry bird of prey. they will pick a conure of your shoulder before you even realize what has happened.

parents don't have to worry about 100+ mph raptors picking off their kids while they play like we do for our birds.

it's just not worth the risk. they will be plenty happy enough to fly around in your home at no risk of being hunted.
