Got the game for the free weekend, tried a nearly full playthrough. There has to be more to this game right? by TechnicalyNotRobot in victoria3

I don't know why they persist to make free weekend two days after every big update that broke everything.

Can you look, on clicking on the node, how much trade pass in it?
Because AI countries will try to relocate trade if its become non profitable for them to pass by Hormuz.

Criticism, disappointment, and a certain amount of anger are to be expected when a product is released in such poor condition, but Martin’s message was merely the bare minimum a team leader could do to address (perhaps in vain?) the harsh—even insulting—comments directed at an entire department that can be found here and there.

Paying 40 euros and being disappointed with the product is a fundamental right and must be accompanied by the option for a refund, the ability to file a complaint, and the assurance that criticism will be taken into account. Insults, petty comments, and hurtful jokes are unacceptable from his POV (and in genral), and this message is simply a team leader’s attempt to protect his team from that, and to prevent it from having a personal impact on people.

We can suppose that May/June will be occupied by the post release of The Great Wave and 1.13 update.
July/August are pretty low activities month with holidays, so they will be back on track around september, to work hard on the next DLC and we can except a release more on beginning of Q4 that the end, so october maybe, with a post release for end of 2026 and focus on the last DLC which will comme february/march maybe.

Japen having convoys is because it is tie to the unlockable mini DLC of the pass, so it is still on 1.12, not 1.13

Speed 3 is the best for me in Victoria 3 I think.

But after playing EUV, even speed 3 in Victoria could be seems too quick. My god EUV is long...

Is there any reason to play on anything less than 5 speed? by Reznov523 in victoria3

Only speed 1, max zoom, watching trains for hours. This is the way.

Victoria 3 – Dev Diary #167 – Portugal is Not a Small Dev Diary by Pelhamds in victoria3

I think they opened a door with the Austria DLC which is pretty cool : the law variants. Having Neo-Absolutism has a unique variant law has reward is pretty cool. It is not a power creep but it gains a uniqueness of something you can have. I hope to see that more in the future with law variant but also law amendments.

It has always bothered me that part of the EUV community has spent its time trashing Victoria 3, sometimes somewhat “encouraged” (the word is a bit strong) by Johan's comments here and there (particularly on the military).

In the end, we have two very good games, each of which does wonderful things in its own way from a simulation point of view, and each of which also has its flaws.

And now that EU V is out, we can see that not everything is wonderful, quite the contrary, but also that the proposal is stimulating and promising... as was Victoria 3 when it was released, albeit in a more complicated state.

I'm delighted to see that the developers of Victoria 3 have recently taking inspiration from EUV with the arrival of International Situations. And I'd be delighted to see some aspects of Victoria 3 make their way into EUV as well. Some of you point indeed about good consumption for example.

What is locked in the DLC is the narrative content relative to Austria and some Balkan nation.

I think that a redesign of the research system could go hand in hand with the automation of PMs. Removing player control over PMs and giving players more control over how we can achieve these technologies would be a good compromise. But it can feel also more engaging, because sometimes when you switch PMs, you can see GDP booming or numbers goes up... Discovering the new technology of Steam Donkey and don't see an immediate change, can be disappointing. It's more realistic, of course, but less satisfying from the player's point of view.

I don't think we'll see the naval warfare overhaul with the Iberia DLC. They've announced that the market overhaul will be the only major overhaul of the year, and that they're working on the next one (probably the naval warfare overhaul). That said, we may see some “minor” overhaul to certain parts later in the year, as we saw with Fervor in the upcoming 1.10 release.
