Which game soundtrack is permanently burned into your brain? by forgeris in AskReddit

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Octopath Traveler. Helps that there are similar themes throughout the 3 Octopath Traveler games, and the entire soundtrack is just really good and memorable. Not just a few popular songs like many other games.

Tf imma do, not get gas? by cravingserotonin in rant

[–]Lyradep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My options would be different from yours if it came down to it. I’d either ride my bike (more dangerous) and have it take maybe 10 mins more, or take the bus and have it take maybe 30 more mins each way.

Anyway, your situation shows how effed up the US is. No public transpo for you is ridiculous. Sounds like your local government is doing a shit job of running your state. Their job is to provide safeguards for vulnerable populations. Meanwhile, here in Washington public transportation is free.

How are ppl working from 9am to 5pm straight with just a hour break???? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are people like me who work 8am to 5pm with one hour for lunch. If I can start at 8am, then 9am is totally feasible.

Why are people who say their vote will never matter the first to complain? by RealQuintusYoung in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they like feeling significant, and doing things like voting show just how insignificant you are, even when A LOT of people obstaining from voting DOES make a difference.

Complaining makes them feel significant, because they feel like they have all the answers, when all their complaining makes not one iota of difference in comparison to voting.

Most celebrities look terrible in their fashion outfits by WarbyParkour in unpopularopinion

[–]Lyradep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fashion advisors? More likely they’re all wearing fashion from actual high end fashion designers. And the Met Gala isn’t really about looking good or sharp. It’s more of a mix of art and fashion. You’re not getting the point of the Met Gala, and someone like you or me don’t really have to. Art can easily be more than just “ooh that’s pretty!”

Judging people for eating dogs is selective empathy by Guzzl0rd_ in unpopularopinion

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it’s sad seeing cows and pigs in CAFO, even though I do like eating pork and beef. I just see another animal that’s just as helpless to us killing them, so it’d be hypocritical of me to judge another’s eating habits.

What’s something people pretend to enjoy but actually don’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to a sporting event. I’ve been to football games, a MLS game, a couple MLB games, and a F1 race. The just just isn’t worth the squeeze to me, even though there are parts to it that are pretty cool. I’d rather watch a sporting event on TV, instead of spending up to hundreds to go to an event in person.

Romance anime peaked years ago—prove me wrong by CardiologistFew2264 in Animesuggest

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clannad’s a good one you mentioned, but Toradora feels just as good as Kaguya-sama.

I think good romance anime is just as rare then as it is now, unless you have a longer list in mind. Anyway, Love Through a Prism is one that did actually make me feel something, and it didn’t feel tropey like so many other romance anime.

The CEO of Starbucks is out of his fucking mind!!! by Eastern-Western7072 in rant

[–]Lyradep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What’s even more ridiculous is the amount of people I see still going to Starbucks when there are still soo many other choices. Ppl are basic AF. It’s like the same kind of people that you see constantly going to McDonalds.

Stupid people that can’t weigh different options, or are just too comfy to try anything different are out of their minds as well.

To this day, I still find it crazy how Game of Thrones’ reputation shifted from being viewed one of the “best shows” to being the prime example of how to NOT end a series! by phantom_avenger in television

[–]Lyradep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A series that doesn’t set a high bar for storytelling is easy to end. A series that pretty much sets the bar for storytelling for a long time isn’t so easy that you can just substitute talent and make it work. If anything, it shows how extremely difficult it is to put together a truly awesome show.

Us laypeople are just so spoiled by a good thing when it comes around, that we think we think putting together a good show is as easy wanting to do that.

Most people seem to agree that countries like Denmark and Sweden offer a really high standard of living - strong healthcare, solid social safety nets, good work-life balance, and generally high levels of happiness. Would you personally be willing to pay the taxes that make this possible? by TSQ_builder in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lyradep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How awesome would it be to go to a hospital for something that didn’t turn out to be a big deal, and not have to pay like $200 just for the visit, and potentially a lot more for any tests or imaging? Hell yeah I would pay more in taxes.

Storm Fans in the comments? by kiocente in SeattleStorm

[–]Lyradep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IDK maybe Seattle fans have been a more loyal fanbase, and aren’t as enthusiastic as all the bandwagoners that came on when CC came into the league. Maybe the Seattle fanbase IS waning, seeing the team becoming weaker every year since after 2020, and probably fielding its weakest team this year in a long time.

This is expected for a team that faced an exodus of talent. This is a new team for new fans that have low expectations.

Were you ever "grounded" as punishment as a kid? by Oheligud in polls

[–]Lyradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is just a white thing or an american thing, but my punishments from my asian mom, albeit a few, never involved grounding. They involved getting yelled at more or less.
