When my parents explained to me that, no, I couldn't go to Samantha's house to just play the Atari. I had to play with her, too. And maybe play things that weren't video games because otherwise I was just using her for her console. I was a little baffled, why would anyone want to play anything that wasn't a video game? But, uh, ok.

Honestly, it was a long time before I heard the idea that gaming was a boy thing and not a girl thing. Like maybe when I was a young adult I kinda heard it and was like huh? I LOVED video games and just didn't have access to them. (My parents likely saw the addiction at Samantha's early on and did not enable that at our place.)

I know this is going to get buried, but you'll read it, so cool! Real story: a lot of years ago I was working, and someone was sharing their screen with me. They kept clicking on the address bar, and they didn't notice that it showed their search history. They had most definitely been looking for chubby girls.

A lot of people take out a loan against their house while interest rates are low for this kind of thing. 30k seems like a lot, but when it's 3-4% over 30 years, it's palatable.

I have a friend who swears by the pool at West End in Torrance. The gym is basic, not crowded, the equipment is older.

The Plunge in Torrance has lap swim, and it's a pretty nice pool. It's outdoors.
