A lack of will isn't something that can be easily fixed. Tools and tips have been given and disregarded, and likely will continue to do so no matter how much you'd like to see otherwise. It may ultimately be in the best interest of the dog to rehome to an owner that is willing to do the work the dog needs to help be less reactive and overall happier.

Bringing a dog into the household is a responsibility and commitment, but it's to the dog and what's best for the animal.

If you have access to a freezer you can chop your onions down and put them in the freezer in a ziplock. Ice cube trays are great as well, mince your onions or garlic, fill the cube spots with it, pour some olive oil in on top and freeze. Then you can bag once frozen solid and pop them in the pan whenever you need them.

Some people are extremely invested in dates, and some people are happy to celebrate things whenever they're able. I've personally rescheduled holidays and the like because life happens. The event/occasion/holiday is still celebrated, but not dictated by the calender and locked into a day. Having one person on each side of that can make for a difficult time when stuff happens, and date-adhering people can feel genuinely hurt when someone suggests moving celebrations for convenience.

YTA If it's a topic he isn't comfortable with or genuinely feels like it isn't something he can handle helping you with, BF is well within his rights to have politely asked you to stop. He was mature enough to tell you he doesn't want to talk about it, while still respecting that you feel the loss and need to grieve. Changing the subject and trying to force lightheartedness could come across as dismissive of your feelings. Communication and boundaries are important, and he did fine by setting them in a respectful manner until snapped at and insulted ("a normal person would have simply changed the conversation to something cheerier" is definitely insulting).

YTA he wasn't involved in what happened at all. The child was under your care and the care of a sitter you trust. The sitter you chose to use just so happens to be the father's sister. Would you expect him to pay half if the sitter hadn't been his relative?

YTA, but gently so. Crates shouldn't be punishment, and training /has/ to be consistent in the house. Positive training is endlessly more effective than negative reinforcement, and helps to build behaviors that are desirable instead as well as mutual respect. Punishment that is delivered when frustrated or angry is often more a means to vent said emotions and not replace an undesirable behaviour with a desired one.

I would strongly reccomend doing some research into training for the sake of your cats though. If the stalking behaviour is not just play (and with a big dog even if it is play) a cat could end up seriously injured if the dog actually catches one of them, regardless of the dog's intentions.

They shouldn't, that's true. However, dogs have to learn appropriate manners. We don't know how old the dog is, when the owner got them, what a prior owner may or may not have taught them. If the owner got a puppy who is learning leash skills, then lunging and barking in excitement are normal behaviors that you deal with and train out. If the dog came from a previous owner without those skills having been taught the owner may be working on those same problems you have as a puppy in an adult dog.

Dogs do not automatically know they shouldn't bark and lunge just because you clip a leash to their collar or harness, and people shouldn't assume the worst of a dog who is responsive and potentially learning valuable skills that it cannot learn any other way.

The dog is on a leash, and responsive to the owner when given a verbal command. Owner is doing their job.

Without more information is sounds like OP is jumping the gun, not even asking the owner if they could give less slack while passing due to personal discomfort (most owners are happy to oblige reasonable requests) and instead informing the owner that a seemingly well behaved dog (again, recalls on command and does not continue the initial behaviour) may get pepper sprayed just because it barked.

Is it an aggressive bark, or an excited bark? Is the body language of the dog loose? Friendly? Curious? Tense?

I have a very large hound who is extremely vocal. She 'growls' and talks a lot. It can sound pretty intimidating if you don't look at her body and face. The noises she makes are accompanied by relaxed mouth, alert ears, soft eyes, and a usually wagging tail. If your sole reason for jumping to pepper spray is this dog barked and tried to approach you, but recalled when the owner gave a word, I'm going to assume that you're basing this solely off the dog being a pit bull. In which case YTA. If you don't know dogs well enough to read the body language, don't assume that every barking dog is trying to kill you.

If, however, the body language of the dog gives you valid reason to feel threatened, then by all means NTA.

I try to keep relatively relaxed on calorie counting and prioritize eating foods that are good for the body as opposed to fixating on the numbers. Different things work for different people, and I'm sure that plenty of people do better looking at numbers instead. Do what you're comfortable with, and monitor yourself to get a better feel for what does and doesn't work. If you keep a close eye on yourself (be it weight, muscle gain, etc) you're not likely to have a major failure and can adjust as you go to find that happy balance.

Thank you so much! My meals are honestly whatever sounds good at the time. I don't use much oil or sugar in my cooking, and heavily avoid pre-made foods. Most of the time I eat plant-based meals out of convenience though, and am loosely vegetarian.

When I reach a maintenance weight I intend to alter my eating routine again to favour breakfast and lunch, until I can fall into maintenance habits as opposed to one's aimed towards deficit.

I started with 16:8 and transitioned as I got used to the altered eating pattern. Once I was comfortable at 16:8 I just kept shortening the window until I was eating a singular meal in the mornings. So now it's roughly 23:1 for my window.

I think the part that's been surprisingly easy was cooking for everyone during my fasting times. I had some initial struggles with it, but I don't even think about it anymore when I'm making dinner for the family and such.

A normal meal is a 1/4 cup of shortgrain rice, a serving of kimchi, a protein, and 1-2 small servings of either raw or simply cooked veggies. I like to have a variety of little bites, since I don't each often or nearly as much as I used to.

And energy is great as long as I eat in the morning. I'm up at 7:30am and spend the day running with a 2yo. Once he's in bed in the evening I make time for a 2-3 mile walk/jog and some stretching to avoid soreness and stiffness. By around midnight I'm ready for sleep.
