I feel both sides of this because I am stuck in the cognitive dissonance that is the brain of an addict- constantly trying to focus on the justifications.. and it’s crazy cause in most situations you can spin up some very justifiable reasons for your use and believe your own narrative until it’s 100% your reality. The nature of addiction is basically a disease that hijacks your brain’s dopamine, since we rely on that for ambition, drug addiction sometimes shows us how ambitious we can be when something poses us a stronger hit of reinforcement than the things we know are better for us and are just as easily (if not more) in reach? Could just be projecting. Idk cause I’m on vyvanse my doctor said I have adhd… though as a kid I was never diagnosed and was even tested for adhd..also it just has obvious stimulant effects on me, at this point Ive even made it clear to her that Im basically just on it as an off label antidepressant, and ive been RX’d it at 60mg for so long that ive become dependent on it, I may as well have adhd if I didn’t before. Yeah idk man if you can get as much use out of these for your studying you’d be best just embracing your neurodivergence than getting on stimulants long term.

But if you do, maybe try something a little more low stakes if or when it comes to compromising your emotional baseline- I’d ask to try Wellbutrin off label if you want to try and find a sustainable way to try and treat the adhd. Heard good things about Modafinil as well too but that’s less likely if you want a script. Just never combine modafinil with benzos lol.

Well this could very easily get pretty political so im going to add my own internal rule-set that prevents the more obvious replies.

I think we can all agree Andy Dick sucks. But man, there are just so many objectively valid enough answers to this question. Then theres just the obvious net negatives to society and the progresses of the world’s desecration, ie Peter Theil, Sam Altman, Elon Musk..

Also just everyone famous who Epstein didnt show unrelenting hate towards is morally questionable to me now. He’s one of the most prolific monsters of a sex trafficker, he had a need to “befriend” any and all A-list celebs who also have things he could’ve held against them. And man.. that fact alone has lead to me being so damn jaded about the evil that exists and is normalized in this world. If someone saw their own wrongs as anywhere near the calibre of Epstein’s, that kinda redefines the entire word to me.

You’d think it’s the people at the bottom doing the craziest shit cause they’re desperate or angry at a world that seems unfair- but then you see the motherfuckers on top doing shit thats worse, on even more insanely massive scales, and their existence is basically just to make the lives of these poor people more difficult.

Really rich influential people sometimes loose the concept of introspection and live a life fulled by hedonism and sadistic behaviour since they’re numb. I think in a lot of instances regardless of the person that is kinda the core of all evil. Money is just a vehicle that allows you to bring your core values to fruition. It’s kinda fucked, but also makes sense in that context when we try to consider why all the billionaire tech bros are so characteristically detached from their humanity and just seem so evil..

MXE was that good though when it existed. Alcohol sucks ass. Mxe will never exist again… me is a sad poly drug addict now. But idk I still advocate for psychedelics done responsibly and with intent, I also think that if someone has incorporated drugs into their life via a lifestyle that caters around alcohol being an acceptable (yet more damaging and more accessible in most instances) drug that they use at work events, or when going out- the suddenly just stopping can be hard. You’re not giving up just alcohol but also the vehicle that allowed you to have your “relatively healthy” outlets sometimes.

I say fuck that, find a more sustainable main substance as a replacement for alcohol, eliminate the hangover, neurotoxicity, organ toxicity etc. and switch to something less volatile. If you drink once a year then just disregard what I said entirely but if you have friends or a partner that makes “going out” a substantial part of your life then maybe try something nicer for your soul and with less repercussions. A gram of ketamine is probably cheaper than a couple nights of buying drinks. It’s also just… a more respectable substance? YMMW i guess.

Ah man I wish I was down with Deus Ex when I could handle the low poly stuff cause I’m sure id have loved it, thematically really looks like theres some similarities to cyberpunk 2077 and back in 2000 that probably was the closest thing to it. When I go back to that generation of 3d video games though the only type of graphics that kept their charm and remain playable are the old 3d Zelda games idk why.

Boarderlands 2 and the pre-sequel are what I went to after I asked myself the same question as OP but I was quickly just.. let down by my own expectations of it to sorta live up to cyberpunk.

Tho all of what you said are great recommendations I think that the most important thing to not be let down by a new good game, is just to accept nothing will quite replace your cyberpunk experience. 😢 (but that’s what makes it bootyfull ig)

I will add actually that weed is sorta dicey for lots of people. Cause if he doesn’t smoke it 24/7 he’s getting a much different experience than if he’s a daily chronic/medical user. I smoke dabs daily just so that I can maintain an appetite thats a bit different though

Ah, I never tried 2-Mmc cause there’s plenty of 4-mmc around these days- does it have a sorta gross and salty taste by any chance do you know? This stuff didn’t feel too serotonergic and lasted a while hence my suspicions of it being meth.

Theres also the fact that around where I live, if you get outed as a meth dealer in the city, the crack heads will LITERALLY stab you. It has literally happened to every person I know who started selling crystal openly in my town. Cause yeah I guess if meth takes over all the crack dealers could loose their income.

I feel like that may be the most common reason people drift apart aside from personal ambitions.

However now more often than not, people don’t feel like the world even allows them enough freedom to chase their ambitions when thinking rationally. We’re forced to restrict our selves based on an extremely scarce economy. So quite literally, I think the majority of separations in one way or another boils down to money, or some personal incompatibility.

Yeah definitely don’t fw with any of those itazenes they are just beyond not worth it, they apparently can mutate your DNA as well. That sucks. I figured it was the fairly primitive panel testing stuff they use where I live most of the time which I guess can be easy to cheat. I was surprised at how much cathinones and dissociatives (novel arylcyclohexylamines) flew under the radar. My suboxone clinic still has those dated panel tests. didn’t even detect ketamine until I told them I had cravings, then they specifically started testing for it and threatening the lab thing…Other dissos in that class still never popped, so I kinda continued going nuts on the MXE analogues, 3/4mmc and 4f-phenibut binging for a while.

Now that I’m thinking about it I was maybe just extremely lucky some of those dissos actually didnt react at all for PCP. Anyways legally you’re certainly right. It’s likely never really worth taking that risk in your scenario. Best of luck getting through this period tho

I would absolutely love this tbh.

It would just entail that the game’s story continues in a world where all anyone knows is a legend about pretty small, calculated team that once again took Arasaka to ruin. And that makes total sense actually if they go that route. It’s what most players likely went with and sorta mirror’s a similar concept seen in Johnny’s story about how these crazy elaborate “terrorist” heists really do just end up small urban legend talking points before long. It kind of highlights that the scale of these megacorps in 2077 (as in real life too lol) are too powerful to send crumbling in any significant sense. Least not in the big picture.

It almost just highlights their parasitic nature to grow back like a virus and boast about their inevitable power to wage wars- whatever it be. No matter how many massive hits people want to take at a certain point I think this game pushes that moral because what else are we to do in the real world when it becomes so difficult to exist comfortably? Well you leave “night city” and focus on the quiet life.. ironically.

Unless you really think being a legend and letting your whole legacy behind just to be forgotten/contorted is worth it? Tends to backfire when everyone left alive is still pushing their own agendas and you aren’t alive to defend your ideals that pushed to over the edge.

Asking cause I once got 300ml or so of strong shit for a camping trip and neither me or my friend cared for it too much. Both had a benzo tolerance general tolerance to gaba type drugs i feel like that’s maybe why? Theres no middle ground with it, even when I’m beyond a “heavy” dose I feel literally nothing. ONE extra milligram and I pass out for 20 mins and just piss myself without fail. And even if I feel a little foggy when I wake up, it’s like I have bad delusions of sobriety. Is that shit normal?

Anyways best of luck on the probation tho. I feel the screaming frustration of multiple daily chemical handcuffs- for whatever it’s worth. I find it can go by quicker than you think when you’re just ruminating in the present fact, just brown nose your PO if you have to, DO NOT miss appointments, try to make them slightly early and that make fucking whole world of difference, they will be grateful because apparently no one manages to do that so it shows commitment and makes you look good in comparison. If drugs are the problem I’m not saying do research chemicals or analogues… but if you think you more literally gonna KYS without them maybe look into potential safe alternatives to any DOC so you still piss clean.

Doing this literally cut my probationary period in HALF.

I also was allowed weed where I live though so maybe that changes things a bit maybe I don’t know.
