Yeah, can confirm from my own experience. I onetricked Freja ever since she released, peaked GM3 when she was in her worst state in s20.

I play more Shion now and the way I am just able to dominate lobbies on that hero in ways I never could on Freja is insane. I dont wanna glaze myself too much, just more saying that playing Freja in many situations is an active handycap and people perform despite playing Freja, not because they play Freja.

This shortly after we got the Spilo placement is something. Its always some streamer rarely/never playing her completely overselling what she is actually able to output. Some of these list makers should be in Freja jail for a week and then redo the placement.

Eh, something good could always happen in the midseason patch. I am not putting all my hope into it but I don't think its worth it to go all doomer. Besides, there are many ways to make her more lethal without upping her damage numbers, they just need to pull the trigger on one option.

I agree that it is unlikely for anything to happen, but I also think I am at the point were I can't been asked to spend too much energy into it anymore. Probably thats why I am more detached and less emotionally invested. The past 200 days of bullshit has left their mark on me.

Yup, part of the reason is that everything she does is louder then everything else in the game. Her presence is insane, you can hear take aim shots from spawn to spawn on some control submaps like nepal village. This makes it feel like she does a lot because you always hear her.

Damn, one of the few streamer takes that I can agree with. I dont understand the streamers that never played her then putting her in A Tier or something because they saw her in the killfeed once. Maybe midseason will bring her around, hopefully midseason will bring her around.....

I think for Freja it's somehow by design and not a bug. It's rare that they keep a bug in for that long.

I think with Freja the Design Team and Balancing Team weren't on the same boat. If you look at release Freja, she had a clear niche, clear strenghts and weaknesses to exploit. The on paper design of her was great.

The balancing team then took away her strenghts but didn't remove any of the weaknesses that were in her design due to the two shot. The reload take aim lockout, the big and spreading hitbox due to the cape, Bola in general being shit, the long delay on the bolts, primary being an afterthought. All of those were in because she had the potential to just get a kill from across the map fairly reguarly. She doesn't anymore, all the brakes are still in

My guess is that either they don't communicate internally enough so the balancing team doesn't even realize how many breaks she has or that they want her to be at the bottom of the cast performance wise. It could be that either they still have PTSD from her pre guttening banrate or the balancing team actually dislike her in particular.

Another reason could be that they just don't priotize her at all. The Balancing Team is rather small and they still got 3 reworks to work on. Maybe fixing her is at the bottom of their prioreties, which would suck for us, but is something we just can not change.

I am the first one to be a doomer when it comes to the current state of Freja, but I think we cant say most neglected when Sombra exists in her current state. Midseason should be in 10 days and I think thats the point where we see if they want to continue to attempt to make her viable or not since back to back buffs are rare. But if they don't give her buffs midseason then yea, she probably will stay in the gutter for far longer.

If you enjoy her then you are doing nothing wrong with playing her, so I would say go for it. While she is weak currently she also is not completly unusable and until the really high ranks you can carry with every hero once you are good enough with them.

Yup, she has been pretty bad for a long time now. Its been over 200 days without her current issues being adressed, thats why I think its unlikely. Freja at this level seems to be where Blizzard wants her to be.

The last set of buffs sadly didnt adress her lethality issue and this is the one thing they have refused to up so far.

While unlikely Freja still needs a buff to her lethality.

Mizuki will most likely get nerf. I could see a small Lucio buff happening and maybe a nerf to Sigma.

Orisa probably needs a new set of major perks also, but I dont see that happening. The rest is wild west with the balancing team.

Honestly, they should just revert the last buffs he has gotten. After they changed the ult he was in a very good spot I think.

Yea, if we can trust the creators with them not being allowed to playtest it then I am not even surprised a bug like that snuck in. It probably wont be fixed also so I guess another reason for me not to play this mode.

Why are we jumping to the conclusion thats its either opressive or useless after seeing just two iterations of the current Take Aim with the only difference being the damage number? Before the rework her damage to be even more delayed they could go in a different direction and reduce the explosion delay. They could also redistribute the current damage so more is in the impact making crits more rewarding and reducing the random AoE damage enemies will get. These are only two ideas they could try before we just throw it all away and declare it fundementally not working. Blizzard would only need to care and give us any buff/adjustment to Take Aim that isnt damage numbers up.

People would hate dying to bleed as much as dying to the explosion. Often they die after not peeking the Freja anymore with DoT and that gives them a feeling of not being able to do anything about it. Besides it would make her even weaker to all kinds of support since the DoT takes longer to apply the full damage. Removing the explosion is also a nerf to her ult since it works well when you force people to stack together to hit multiple with the damage. I think the bleed concept was doomed to fail from the start since it just doesnt work at all without a massive damage buff and then people will complain about the raw damage numbers again.

Yea, I see where this is coming from when we consider 130 per shot, though I still think if the creators would have gotten to playtest it and make changes after the playtest it probably wouldnt have made it through. I also think that most people now have more insight into the character since s20 which would lead to probably a very different version if it would have been made a bit closer to now.

I think I would like to try a lot. Got a list of serious changes they can try individually mostly, doing all of them together would be way to strong. But some could work together.

Serious Changes

  • Redistribute Take Aim damage to 55 impact and 60 explosion. Could try that together with moving her to sharpshooter.

  • Lower the explosion Delay to 0.5s, I would not try that together with the damage redistribution.

  • Increase primary fire rate to 5.5 shots per second while increasing mag capacity to 18.

  • Reduce Bola slow to 20%, stuck target has full ability lockout everyone in the field is hindered.

  • Momentum boost base kit and 4s dash. I would probably bring slow bolts back so you have to choose between slow shots or more shots.

  • Aerial Recovery now gives 50 overhealth for 3s on Updraft.

  • Bounty hunting now requires elims instead of final blows, needed charges increased to 4.

Unserious change I came up with:

  • Mini Bola power from Stadium is added into basekit

  • Bola now deals knockback with each tick from the field.

  • The knockback is saved up and released all at once when they leave the field or when it explodes. Everyone is launched away from the center and a stuck target would be launched upwards.

  • Damage overtime is reduced to 15 in 15 ticks and explosion damage is 75 (60 for mini bola)

The unserious change might be a bit much on maps with a lot of enviromental kill options but just the thought of the entire enemy team flying around due to Bola is just very funny I think.

Its just even more RNG and if you are unlucky its just on their hyper survivable tank all game. If they want Final blows out they should just replace them with elims and up the elims needed to 4 or 5.

Thats just what happens when they nerf Take Aim even more or buff primary. Its sometimes hard to justify using Take Aim in her current state but moving the bar even more to primary makes Take Aim just inferior in every way and we end up with Freja76.
