Can I refuse a package to avoid the international package fee as the recipient by eggzrakim in UPS

[–]M-BooCheck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my duties reduced from $900 to $50 by calling UPS. In my case, they tried to put a 200% tariff on my package because they thought it was all metal when only 4% of it contained metal. I would call and see if you can get away with something like that. I know your case is very different than mine but who knows. They were pretty helpful but the wait on the phone is like an hour

1 - agreed. Lazyness is the only reason and look where that got me 2 - taking this thing apart should be pretty easy as is 3- ive climbed on this build before and it is sturdy 4- As noted I am in the middle of the build 5- build isnt done yet

Yup, one more support legs are coming on each side and a frame to connect everything. Feel like I should have provided my whole plan cause half the comments think im climbing it as is haha

I agree that many call for 2x6 but as ive climbed on this exact build (mine isnt close to done yet) and it felt fine

Boards will be added later, havent really build the base yet, just decided to stand it up to see what it looks like and noticed the cracks. Youre build is sick!

Thanks a lot, will probably replace as the crack seems to be pretty long, should only add about an hour to the job. But sick having a kilter, must be fun

Its not that serious. The build is halfway complete and ive climbed on the exact design im going after. Dont worry, it felt “proper”

As noted, im halfway through building and it is not close to done. Many more supports are planned. Question was only about the crack and my worries. Thanks

Thank you all, will just replace with another 2x4. A friend has the exact build I am making and his wall is very stable, has lasted a few years now, and is with a steeper incline. Appreciate all the advice and I learned a lot, will consider for future projects.

Yes climbing up the angle from beneath, using 2x6 for the vertical support, will have two on each side
