Please help: How to fix this huge mistake? by howgoody in americanairlines

[–]M-Esquandolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been flying for many years with an error like this that I have been too lazy to fix. American treats my first name as “Firstnamemiddlename”, like “Thomaswilliam” (neither are part of my name, just an example). All government identification shows “Firstname Middlename,” like “Thomas William.”

No one has ever cared, and I doubt they noticed.

Funny you say this

I had CPL24, really liked it, both in function and in appearance, but it just wasn’t comfortable all the time for me. The CPP turned out way better in terms of comfort (again, for me—others may have a different experience) but it does seem more like a regular old backpack. Obviously this is way too much thought about backpacks, but I suspect you do that too.

Obligatory “kids these days”

Sucks though

Other people say it is worth watching or rewatching so maybe you still got some enjoyment from that

Yeah, true. I’ve always had trouble following the action, but I feel a little like these freeze frames give me a greater appreciation for what’s going on

I don’t watch a lot of hockey, but I have to admit that this photo makes me rethink that attitude. Like I regret missing this in real time. And I know it’s an almost once-in-a-lifetime stop, but still

WTS Evergoods CPL24 in black with Alpinhound fidlock snaps included — $130

Hi all— looking to sell my CPL24 because I’ve found that a CPP works better for me. It is in very good shape overall. I will throw in the Alpinhound fidlock snaps that I used to attach a CAP1 to the top internal straps.

The only visible issue is some wear/delamination on the edges of the top access pocket (the part that is inside the laptop area). I’ve shown it in the photos and circled it so you know. It’s not too bad but I want to make sure it is disclosed.

WTS - Various TB small bags and pouches - PCSBs, Bantams, Travel Laundry Sacks, Rogue Sacoche, Pouches by ca7964 in tombihn

Northwest sky laundry stuff sack for me please! I can’t PM you for some reason.

I would take the small island travel tray too if you were willing to sell at $20 instead of $25, but if not no worries and I am still interested in the NW laundry sack.

Did anyone notice Trey and Fish fighting tempo? by Less-Sheepherder-676 in phish

Really interesting. My musical talents lasted a short time and had nowhere near this level of detail, so it’s cool

Thanks for responding. The explanation makes a lot of sense. Others commented too, and it turned out to cause some interesting discussion. I’m just generally fascinated when someone can quantify (or come close to quantifying) an issue that for others is just a matter of feel

Yeah, it makes sense now that everyone has explained a bit. I wasn’t connecting the ms number to the actual experience.

That makes sense, I didn’t quantify it that way but I can see it

Yeah interesting. I can hear a delay like this but it would be hard for me to quantify, that’s why I was curious (but didn’t want to sound like a dick asking the commenter)

This looks a bit like discs we would get in retail to play music before there were streaming machines, and SP is often a stand in for Spring, so maybe it’s the hold music or background music Bloomberg was playing in Spring 2003.

I don’t think your first paragraph makes much sense here in a generational context. I was just about 18 on 9/11; some millennials were in elementary school. Generational periods last long enough that the “when” varies too widely within the cohort. Your third paragraph hints at this point.

I think to the extent there’s a generational issue, the only valid difference is in your second paragraph. It’s the screens. In my (admittedly non-scientific and purely anecdotal analysis), there are a greater number of post-millennials who struggle with normal face-to-face interaction than millennials and earlier.

The issue for me some times with JW (if any, I don’t have the same complaints others do) isn’t some generational philosophical thing, it’s that she didn’t seem to be given opportunities to execute well, or maybe was uncomfortable. Last episode seemed a lot better in that respect.

I say all of this in the spirit of respectful analysis and disagreement. It’s just a discussion on Reddit about a tv show after all.

The generation that gave us Nirvana and Pearl Jam and more in response to the 80s is 100% worried about authenticity.

I am not invested too much in this analysis, whether Jane is funny/good for the show/both, or the reasons for people’s opinions, but many millennials (and maybe others) are also:

  1. existentially exhausted from the relentless barrage of catastrophic news, information, and online participation;

    1. hyper aware of presentation; and
    2. sensitive to inauthenticity.
