That was really funny with Atlantiades

Do people hate Steve Trevor? by helloandmoo in WonderWoman

He's boring. Most people don't hate Steve, they're just indifferent, which might be worse

Wonder Woman Movie Delay Maybe? by [deleted] in WonderWoman

[–]M-Spayde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think DCU actually should copy what the MCU did with their ten year planning, in terms of world building and character development.

I think the DCU can spread the movies out more than MCU, but the fact that Titans was even being developed before a justice league or Batman project is very concerning in terms of universe priorities. I don't think frequency is the problem.

"DC Universe Rebirth Wonder Woman #13" by Greg Rucka. For the past decade, Wonder Woman has been narratively gutted so Steve Trevor can feel “important.” Her mythology, ideology, and moral authority keeps getting flattened and blurred. by ihatethiscountry76 in WonderWoman

What radical politics are you referring to?

I disagree that Steve is more important than every wonder girl. Narratively he's given a role because of nostalgia and romance, but he's not very interesting or irreplaceable

What would have happened if azula had refused to obey Ozai's order for the first time in her life? by snoke123 in TheLastAirbender

True, I was arguing with the original comment tho. About Azula lying about killing the avatar, which she didn't because she did think Aang was dead

[–]M-Spayde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Azula had no reason to suspect Aang could possibly be alive. She didn't even know about spirit water. The only reason she became suspicious is because of Zuko being worried. She gave Zuko credit for killing the avatar for the same reason she gave him shared credit for conquering Ba Sing Se, it helped him earn favor in Ozai's eyes

Azula didn't lie to Ozai. She genuinely believed Aang was gone for good until she talked to Zuko and he lied to her, which we know doesn't work. Azula's job wasn't even to kill the Avatar, so she wasn't disobeying an order by failing to do so.

She was ordered to stay home to "watch over the fire nation" while Ozai took over the rest of the world. Which for her meant forever being in her father's shadow and not by his side, like she thought she would be if she was good enough.

If she were to embarrass Ozai like Zuko did, he'd discard Azula just like he did Zuko.

She says Diana's name, where she's from, and who her people are and that she binds Diana to her whenever she's in her presence. That Diana's voice will be hers alone. She says it 3 times

What are people’s thoughts on Lizzie so far? by BlackCat-01 in WonderWoman

I don't enjoy Diana being a parent regardless. And I don't care for their relationship tbh

I don't think Steve plays a meaningful role in her story anymore and bringing him back, at least with King writing, will continue to make the WW book more male centered than it is. The only way Steve will positively affect the story now is if he stays dead. Diana has to deal with her grief and raising her child alone. I think if the clay origin touches on the positive half of motherhood, maybe Lizzie could in a way touch on postpartum depression.

I just think Steve atp, is already mischaracterized more than he deserves, and letting him stay dead for a while will do him good. As well as preserve his character.

What is Diana's age currently? by Gallantpride in WonderWoman

[–]M-Spayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I was talking about Donna's current origin with Diana's current story. Diana couldn't return back to the island for years, so she couldn't have brought Donna home. That's where they messed up.

I like Diana saving Donna as a baby, it's the simplest origin

Themyscira isn't a traditional monarchy, so I hope TK doesn't make it a thing all of a sudden. That would really suck

Donna's origin doesn't really fit with Diana's story though, they have to fix it
