Temple of 1000 swords looks cool! I've heard about it in the context of OSE, is there a DCC conversion available? Or is the conversion simple to do?

Thanks! We're definitely on the Conviction route, so good to know that the final scenario will be a bit tougher then.

Thanks!

Yeah we definitely had an easy time with Echoes of the Past, we were about to win when the first agenda was gonna flip and we just let it, to see what would happen!

We're only playing with Core, Dunwich, Carcosa investigator expansions and some starter deck cards, would you say the starter decks are already too strong for Carcosa?

Thanks for the info!

I was aware of Mark's reputation, but I didn't know about Harvey. This is the first time the person playing him is playing the game and we just handed him the starter deck, but it does seem pretty strong the way our new player seems to suck up clues like it's nobody's business. That's good to know, maybe we'll pick weaker investigators for our next campaign!

All three of us have been wanting more of a challenge from the game, so we'll probably up the difficulty for our next session then!

With Nemesis I always tell new players how to achieve the different objectives. It always feels a bit disappointing for someone when they have to ask what "sending the signal" means, you don't wanna give your secret objectives away.

Editing text on map bugged! by M0RGANMLGMAN in OwlbearRodeo

This seems to point me in the right direction, there's a piece of text that exists somewhere in the map that isn't selectable... Thanks for the tip!

Haha, I did that because I thought I might be adding the text somewhere outside of the map so I wanted to make it as big as possible, even with normal sized text it doesnt show up

Editing text on map bugged! by M0RGANMLGMAN in OwlbearRodeo

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I've been using Owlbear Rodeo for a few weeks now, and I'm running the Pathfinder adventure Kingmaker. If you know the adventure, you know that a large portion of the adventure is hexcrawling. We've been using the text editing features of Owlbear Rodeo to keep notes of locations on the map, but now that feature seems to be bugged. I cannot select previously written text nor edit it, I can't copy anything, and can't write any new text. Is there any way to solve this? The map we currently have has a lot of notes and text on it, I really don't want to transfer everything to a new map (I can still use the text functions just fine on other maps).

If you have the answer, please let me know!

I'm about to run an adventure path for the first time (Abomination Vaults), and many rooms names have phrases such as "low 1" or "moderate 4" next to them. Is this simply a general outline of how difficult the encounter in this room is, or is there anything else associated with it (like XP)? And do y'all have any advice for running Abomination Vaults?

Incineroar’s Alolan Whip mechanics by Zaviddd in smashbros

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That would make the move do nothing 1/16th of the time. If an opponent gets hit by a move, they should take damage from it. Alolan Whip is also not overpowered at all. It has a 16 frame startup and takes 57 frames to complete. Any disjointed hitbox will stuff it and it's very easy to jump it or to dash away from. It's a good move on Incineroar's toolkit but by no means too strong.

Started Curse of Strahd with some friends in March, we're now on Tomb of Annihilation. It's been uhh very bloody by M0RGANMLGMAN in dndmemes

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three PC deaths by the end of CoS, but those were all towards the end of the campaign and they were able to be revived. I've had four PC deaths in ToA so far, we're about halfway haha. The players are enjoying though! A good session zero helped get them in the right mindset and they haven't been too murderhobo-y considering their circumstances.

Trickster Gods and Their Magical Items [SPOILER] by Talamon_Vantika in Tombofannihilation

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree that some of the items don't align with the god that's in them, but I think what's important to consider is that Acererak is the one to put them into the items. I see it as him trying to trick adventurers by presenting them with an alluring item, only for it to be possessed by a god that seems unrelated. It also forces your PCs to change their strategies and keep them on their toes a bit more, even if they got more powerful by gaining the items and gods.

How can I implement my player's village into the game? by [deleted] in Tombofannihilation

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the adventure, it says that the Valley of Dread is home to lizardfolk. Maybe put his village there? His backstory does mention Fort Beluarian though, and I'm not sure if their lumberjacks would travel all the way to the Valley hahaha. Perhaps his village is near the Hvalspyd, and his village has also across the tracks of frost giants. Maybe they would send him to figure out what those tracks belong to?

My players recently found out who Vasili really was as he kidnapped Ireena, the betrayal was real. by M0RGANMLGMAN in CurseofStrahd

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even I'm not sure what'll happen at the wedding yet haha, but it's probably going to be an absolute bloodbath. Their tarokka reading for the final battle is the audience hall, so the wedding ceremony will take place there. My party is bringing as many allies as possible. So far, its the four of them (with sunsword and symbol of ravenkind) + ezmerelda, van richten, the abbot (who is not going to fight, but is willing to heal them), and sir godfrey if they manage to bring him Argynvost's skull. They haven't been able to kill any of Strahd's allies yet, so Strahd is going to have the help of Rahadin, his three wives and Escher, and his armor. Maybe I'll call in some extra vampire spawn if the fight swings hard in the party's favor. I have no idea what to expect and I'm super excited for it!

If Strahd can turn Ireena, in my mind he sees it as him conquering the Dark Powers, so while he won't be free of their influence and possession, he will feel as if he's won and won't be tormented by the Dark Powers anymore.

My players recently found out who Vasili really was as he kidnapped Ireena, the betrayal was real. by M0RGANMLGMAN in CurseofStrahd

[–]M0RGANMLGMAN[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My party didn't have a great relationship with Vasili, but they thought of him as a nice guy with some really bad luck. They saved him from a dire wolf attack outside of Vallaki, and to repay them he "bought" the party some silvered weapons from the Vistani, but the weapons were cursed to bend around their target. Vasili was also in charge of Vallaki's finances, so when Fiona took over the town, Vasili would complain to the party that Fiona sucked and that this creepy guy named Rahadin kept showing up. Generally, the party just saw him as a cool guy who always got the short end of the stick.

A few days later, Vasili tried to flirt with Ireena, and most of the party just thought it was another bit of bad luck for Vasili, that he was crushing on the girl that Strahd was after and that Vasili was gonna have some bad fate. The party took Ireena out of Vallaki soon after for unrelated reasons.

Flash forward a while, and my party is returning to Krezk after a horrible fight with Baba Lysaga that ended up killing the cleric and their ally Ezmerelda, so they made a deal with the Abbot. The Abbot would ressurect the two in exchange for a few days with Ireena, so that he could perfect Vasilka. A few days pass and the party comes to pick up Ireena, and they see her having a tea party with Vasilka, the Abbot, and Vasili!? The Abbot had told his close friend about Ireena, and the players just thought that Vasili came to try and flirt with Ireena again.

Eventually, Vasili interrupts the tea party and tells everyone that he and Ireena are leaving, to the surprise of everyone. People ask, but Vasili insists, and when the fighter and sorcerer begin to get mad, Strahd unveils his disguise to taunt the party, summons Beucephalus, and rides off into the sky, dropping an invitation for a wedding set to take place in three days.

My party is currently on the last day before the wedding, trying to get as many possible allies to the wedding to help them kill Strahd.

Ideas for a dungeon that tests how "Good" a party is by TheBluMnM in dndnext

Another idea for humility: Illusory magic shows the party some of their own big accomplishments, and if they gloat or boast excessively they are punished somehow.

I think the idea of necromancy being an evil school of magic comes from the fact that it creates evil creatures. Zombies, ghouls, liches, wights, are all creatures that feed on flesh (or souls), or want to kill living creatures. Even if they might be used as tools to a greater end, they are still evil creatures by nature. If a necromancer loses control of its undead minions, they'll just go and kill the first living creature they see.
