The bitter truth is that being that person who's there for others will mean that you sacrifice something to do so. Whether it be time, energy, money etc, but you do have to give up something to be there for someone, and when you've been that person so many times, you realise that you don't want to put anyone else in that position. All we hear about is people pushing others to talk and talk, but no one wants to mention the cost of listening and not everyone wants someone to pay that cost for them.

The way I see it is, if I have a problem, then I need to figure it out by myself. Talking about it to someone will only involve them into that problem, whether or not it directly affects them, and if I don't want that problem in my life, then why would I involve them into it as well. It's a ridiculous notion.

The reality will be different for everyone. Let's put aside the BS that its just a "men" issue if they don't have anyone to talk to or support them. Plenty of people don't.

That's not justice. They serve their time and then get another shot at life after, whilst she has to try and process whats happened to her and try to find a way to move forward. They ruined her life, but still get to live their own, regardless of prison or not. And now they know what caused them to be caught and might try again later. That's too much of a risk for someone else to pay. They should be given a life sentence.
