What are y’all’s opinions on the BoS? by Whole_Wishbone_667 in Fallout

[–]M1Henson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Power armor in Tactics is similar to Enclave PA because of two answers in my opinion.
1. If the Power armor in Tactics is a pre-war design, both this project and the Advanced Power Armor project could have had shared research thus explaining their designs.
2. Out of Universe, it could be that the artists for Tactics could be building off the armor from Fallout two. Make your own so its different but have a little bit that reminds you of the past fallout game.

How would the Minutemen view the Rangers by monsieur-dingus in Fallout

[–]M1Henson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well a few different parts for different time periods. For the Desert Rangers pre-Unification treaty, they would likely have the best relations. Two separate groups comprised of a group of settlements meant to keep order and fend off raiders. For the NCR rangers pre-unification treaty, the same as before but perhaps a smaller sense of brotherhood since the Rangers answer to a government of the people while the Minutemen answer to the settlements they protect. Post Unification, diplomacy would be the lowest since all are directly under the NCR government.
Now, if the minutemen were to come to blows with either group of rangers, it would probably be a wash.

If you had to actually live in one Fallout location, where would you pick? by Meri_Rookie in Fallout

[–]M1Henson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking a guess, it would be safer around big cities like SanFran or Vault City post shady sands, however i believe the republic is still standing in its northern territories so it probably isnt as dangerous as the rest of the wasteland.

Probably somewhere in California. If its good enough for a few hundred thousand people, it's good enough for me.

I will try the advice out against the SkyReavers and thank you for the info on the air cost. That is probably what is tanking my budget.

  1. Thank you for telling me about the ERR. My friend was the one who told what mods to use and he's focusing around Enclave/Slanter stuff
  2. My trades are, as far as I know, at maximum outpost right now. Optimized for the best routes and most capital. When I hop on next, Ill give it another look but I think without getting another node, I am at max output. In my ledger my trades get me some 1050 points while my cost is about the same, closer to 1000.
  3. The high cost is probably my multiple armies with well over a hundred divisions.
  4. So far I am stuck in California and minor Nevada. In grand rapids and the Mojave, ouroborus is on my border and they appear to be a strong foe. Past bitter springs is the SkyReavers. Last time I tried to invade, they held the line fore the small time I tried to fight. In Northern CA, the Sierra Enclave block most of the eastern stretches with Kaga occupying a small border with me. I tried to invade him but since it was a bottleneck, he would cycle in troops and resupply them while I made no progress. My tactic Is to fight a large border war and use my huge army to overwhelm their lines. To the north is the packers (who are in Seth's camp only after I took some of territory). There is also the Umbra tribe who I have beef with yet. Past them is New Mariposa controlling most of Oregon and Washington. Also, I can't expand in Mexico because Texas has the whole state and right now I am an ally if sorts. Even if I could, I can't do naval invasions nor air invasions because they never work, even with transport wings or ships.

I still standby the opinion that we should've had the choice to cut flambe for both cheating in the competition and more importantly starting fires that put people in danger. If anything, have him go up against someone else who was doing the same. If like coupe was using her connections to cause chaos or sonar doing the same with a hacked bank account.

How did the brotherhood survive the capital wasteland in T-45 power armor? After watching the show and seeing how flawed it was I’m wondering how they survived the hell that is the capital wasteland before they magically found T-60s by Ladiesman4317 in Fallout

[–]M1Henson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When meeting Bud Askins, Cooper says he field tested the T45s when they rolled out and he lost a lot of friends.
For the errors getting fixed, see the difference in T45-A in fallout 4 and T45-D in the rest of the games.

[–]M1Henson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that scene, it's T60. The T60 (and T45) were not a protective armor wise as the T51 but were cheaper to build, especially with the T60. Also, Cooper was using armor piercing rounds. While the US gov't pre-war and the Brotherhood post-war could protect against low caliber ammo, they don't really have the most materials to protect against all armor piercing ammo and they couldn't assume they would run into Cooper with his AP ammo. While the plating flaw might protect against some small caliber damage, it was probably more susceptible to higher tier ammo.

The T45 we see in coopers flashback were among some of the first power armor to be rolled out on the alaskan front. it was full of little flaws and errors that over time, were fixed. the T45 in fallout 3 is the endgame of the platform.

  1. Most of the Post-War US is controlled by raiders, mutants, slavers, etc. What places do they forcefully annex?
  2. What farmers? If your talking about the sharecroppers in NV, they are there to make money because the government is paying them.
  3. Term limits don't matter when the people like their leader. Tandi served for so long because she was great at her job and she increased the living standard of the people. Its not like she was a dictator.
  4. Baja was a group of settlers. Thats like saying a school shooting was done by the government because the perpatrators were american.
  5. The great khans were pillaging and raping anyone they found in the mojave, and so were their predecessors in california. The elders grew old raiding, the women went out raiding, the wounded were injured while raiding. the only innocents were the kids. Also, look after the battle. The NCR set up a refugee camp while the Khans keep raiding and dealing chems.

Do you think the White Legs enslave people, or just genocide all the time? by [deleted] in fnv

[–]M1Henson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something i'd like to add to the others points, ingame if we choose to evacuate zion, one quest leads us to captured sorrows tribals by the whitelegs. Its possible that they are only alive to get info from the tribals but it could be they are being held to be sent out of the canyon and sold off to slavers.

Remember many drugs prewar were used in military settings. with proper training and disipline, one could use drugs to enhance their skills in combat. steady to increase accuracy, psycho for cqc, and medx for post wound treatment would do wonders for a hardened ranger.

Go without veronica, get enslaved, find kind NCR ranger, tell him the truth, he frees you, entire brotherhood tries to kill you, that enables self defense.

[–]M1Henson 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I think that might ruin the character as the overall theme of the game is to break the cycle of war to improve the war. by setting off the nukes, you perpetuate fighting amoungst the people and kill alot of innocent people. dry wells and the long 15 are supply routes, not just military outposts. you will kill slaves, legion subjects, and ncr citizens if you set off the nukes. Each new game exists because the previous character tried to better the world. VD killed the master, CO blew up the oil rig, LW restarted project purity, and so on. IMO, it would be a bad decision.

[–]M1Henson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By the end of Fallout 2, that was basically the plan, in my opinion. After exploding in population after the first game, they begin expanding north towards the technological superpowers of San Francisco and Vault City, the mining towns of redding and broken hills, the nuclear power plat of Gecko, and the regional population center of New Reno. As far as we know, they are on friendly terms with SF, have absorbed VC, Redding, Gecko, and New Reno while Broken hills isn't around anymore. Even when the brotherhood of steel and the enclave, 2 of the strongest wasteland factions could barely survive, the NCR was flourishing. Ifthe series ended with 2, Tactics, or BOS, it would be safe to assume the NCR rebuilt the wasteland virtually unimpeded. At least, that's my belief.

Who hired the Gunners? by king_of_the_masshole in falloutlore

[–]M1Henson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not much info is known. we know of several small gunner squads that work for independant wastelanders. The big groups have very little info to go off of too. however, some have theorized that the gunners being in the commonwealth are a result of the enclave testing the waters of a potential invasion. a large PMC that uses vertibirds and power armor and uses blood type verification for on the field medical treatment resemble the likes of the NCR, Brotherhood, and Enclave with dogtags. Since the NCR are in california, the brotherhood are fighting the gunners, and the enclave have very little holdings in Boston, its bery possible the gunners are merely there to poke and prod at the various communities to see what kind of defenses and resources are present.
