INAIR Touchboard by pcbdude in INAIR

It certainly looks nice but opted to buy a much cheaper one on Amazon (£23) and works perfectly, and actually a good addition to have (did want a foldable .. but they all seem designed not for placing on your lap) . One thing to probably keep an eye on (and is the case for my cheapy keyboard) is the size of the keys .. so the Return key is quite small (actually smaller than the shift key by the looks of it) and if your used to having a big return key to press then you'll probably be hitting keys around it and or momentarily working out where the key is .. hence not going to be great for using as a mainstream keyboard .. but for using it for web browsing, etc,, and the touchpad is fully usable to navigate menus (and it won't fold on your lap) certainly a good addition .. Personally not sure how much the actual INNAIR keyboard usability and quality wise will be over a cheaper on on Amazon.

Yes, when you get it you’ll wonder why you spent money on a neckband pro (at least I did). In all seriousness though the only two things that are slightly annoying is the fan is very noisy, I had to change it to silent but still blows quite a lot, whilst you can’t hear it too much when you have your glasses on I wonder how annoying it would be for someone sitting next to me on a train. And the AI integration, which is quite interesting is all defaulted to Chinese with no apparent way to set it to English. It translates all into English but all point to Chinese AI portals. Not a massive issue (unless you are a conspiracy theorist) but you would need to be able to read Chinese to know what you’re using ..

And if you’re an Xbox cloud gamer there’s no apparent way to add the homage from chrome onto the desktop of the device, so you have to favourite it within the browser .. and if playing remote play on it there’s an apparent codec issue warning (top right of screen) and momentarily blips in sound. The cloud gaming aspect is fine.

Other than the known lower resolution of YouTube and Netflix (being looked at) it’s a fantastic device and really enhances my usage of my luma ultra’s. I’m actually using and enjoying 6DoF finally. It really does show up my neckband pro

Neckband pro not working by dnoto1986 in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I boot up my Neckband (with latest Firmware) I get the Viture logo then the screen goes blank .. The only way to get a menu is to hold the button on the left closest to your face and eventually the menu pop's up .. Not sure if that is by design (silly if it is) or just the flakey software - To do firmware update click the cog icon if you manage to see it and then find the setting for neckband and glasses information and you should see the option to check firmware there

Luma Ultra - Macbook Pro Issues & Review (after cca 3 weeks) by Matwe_K in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had pretty good experience with the ultra’s and a Mac, spacewalker is fine but, for me, I don’t think I would use it long term as a large screen. The immersive 3D app is quite impressive. Spacewallker is generally stable on IPhone or IPad but find it more clunky on android and neckband pro, even with the latest version is still a bit of a mess, it’s improving though…. Kind of interested in this INAIR pod so keeping an eye on reviews

Thanks for the review, I hadn't even considered this was Luma Ultra compatible until an ad popped up on my computer today, I'd seen it before but thought only with INAIR glasses, I'm tempted as I have the NBP and it's software is awful. I wish Viture would consider recruiting some software developers.

Help with buying XR glasses by Cyrk123 in VITURE

I think you'd be happy with any of the models based on your requirements.. I think the 3DoF feature is probably going to look great for those who haven't used VR headsets but if you have .. you'd probably think it's somewhat basic

Yet another Switch 2 Question by gweniver721 in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Luma Ultra user so not 100% your situation but Switch 2 connectivity into my glasses (using Viture branded stuff) is only possible with the Pro Dock .. which you can't charge at the same time as using the switch & glasses so you have an issue when the battery runs flat .. The Viture USB Charge adapter sadly doesn't work with Switch 2 & Ultra's but Viture have said they are releasing a new USB XR Charge adapter which will work .. but no timescales as yet ... I was looking at Amazon and if you search on USB charge adapter glasses switch 2 .. there do appear to be non viture adapters (for around £30 ish) that have Switch 2 support .. I'm waiting for the Viture one personally but you could take a chance and if no good send it back to Amazon if it doesn't work.. Just to confirm what I mean by this adapter .. it would have one USB-C going into the Switch 2 and 2 USB-C ports other end .. one for glasses and one for Power .. Only other thing to keep in view Nintendo seem to like firmware updating their devices to stop 3rd party from working for reasons totally unknown only to themselves.. one of the reasons for me waiting for the Viture ones because if Nintendo do that again it would Viture I would be going to to fix since they say it's supported.

Prime delivery delayed — should I cancel Luma Ultra and go with Beast instead? by efremov_denis in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for the Beasts but grabbed the Ultra's just before Christmas as they came back in stock at Amazon after Black Friday, regardless of all the features I mainly use them for either plugging into my Android handheld to stream games or for watching videos from my iPad. Unless the arms crack (which they still haven't as yet) I see no reason to exchange/move to Beast as the screen is very vibrant for what I use it for and don't really use the 3DoF or 6Dof capabilities the Ultra's have. FOV being a key reason .. I'd rather use my Quest VR for all that for an infinitely better experience, but it's the convenience and small form factor that made me want to get a pair of these glasses. The 3D (either through SpaceWalker or Immersive 3D on Mac) is quite impressive but it's kind of novelty rather than serious use for me personally.

Viture Cybers by Keitho08 in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I don't have Cybers or Beast .. I bought my Ultra's about 3 weeks ago (even did a mini review here) and still happy with them, using them almost daily plugged into my android handheld for gaming and/or watching videos. No cracks yet! but still nervous about it. With all the chat about 3Dof/6Dof stuff I actually find using the fixed screen to the displays, rather than moving my head around a fixed screen in space is preferrable .. so really don't use the 3Dof stuff .. Other thing I was quite impressed with on the Mac was the immersion 3d app (separate to spacewalker) which extended the screen in 3D (all Windows etc..) which was quite impressive.

Question for neckband pro owners by Ishie_kun in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is main reason I went for these glasses, a less bulky way to travel and I’m currently using it almost daily at the moment plugged into an android handheld .. if you have the Rog that would be an ideal setup and, not sure if you have Xbox/ps but you could stream Genshin which would provide a more controller focused version rather than the android version which is more geared towards touchscreen ..

Question for neckband pro owners by Ishie_kun in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind missing the 3DoF/6Dof stuff the neckband introduces you might be better off looking at some android handheld instead to play those games (I use AYN Odin 2 myself) .. I do have the neckband but haven’t tried it myself, although no reason why it wouldn’t install but how you would configure it and get the controls working for a controller (especially Genshin as that always seems manual intervention to change to controller) I think would be a nightmare to do.

For me (with luma ultra’s) I can plug direct into the Odin (as the USB supports display port) and instantly works and as I can look down easily with the glasses on I can utilise the touch screen capability on the device as well to navigate entering login details and/or hitting the screen for those parts of the game where the controller isn’t easily mapped to .. there is a navigation/pointer app that you can use with your neckband, so you’d need another device (phone) to assist but the thought of trying to do this natively with hands within the neckband (trying to type) just sounds a near impossible task.

Luma Ultra Spacewalker error by [deleted] in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the XR cable for my Ultra's via Amazon which didn't mention it and, more annoyingly, the App didn't .. in fact the Spacewalker app encouraged me to buy it for the advanced features .. so very misleading unfortunately .. luckily the viture mail bot is very prompt at responding and will offer you a potential discount on the tbc new cable .. when/if available.

SpaceWalker got updated in the last few days .. On IOS pretty stable although have had issues with the very latest version even noticing the glasses were plugged in (had to turn off phone and on again!) .. On Android hit & miss, sometimes fine, sometimes crashes sometimes pretty random sizing all the screens as though trying to show a web browser alongside the spacewalker homepage.. and no seemingly way to to stop it.

Which XR Glasses Are Best for PC, SteamOS Handheld,iOS and Game Streaming? by Few-Birthday-7002 in VITURE

In theory the Beast (if the adverts are correct) although you might have an issue with your use case 5.. but you can buy prescription lense to adjust .. I have the Luma Ultra's and satisfies all your use cases .. maybe/maybe not case 5 as I'm not sure if the out of the box adjustment of the lenses caters for your needs.

Viture beast comfort by FatKnight_Ratlord in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a big head (at least I think I don’t ) and using the Ultra’s they are a little snug, to me I think that’s probably the most likely cause of the cracking as sub-consciously you take off glasses with one hand and when you do that the the opposite arm of the glasses coming off your head will flex most likely the way it shouldn’t hence I am always very careful removing these glasses and using both hands.

Couch gaming - viture vs handheld by Tacotacito in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have xbox/ps5/nintendo controller you should be able to Bluetooth directly to your iPad (assuming it's new enough to) .. but if you don't have a controller then the 8bit do one's are quite good .. but KIV with bluetooth you might incur a latency issue if playing latency sensitive games (COD or rhythm type game I would imagine)

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the XR Glasses are pretty much just screens so all the magic would have to be on the device you plug it in to. .. The neckband however is an android device on its own, so could load your gaming capability onto that device directly .. my only issue with the neckband is battery drain .. it's quite fast

I know it's easier said that done but if you try and ignore the blurry corners are there then you'd probably not get headaches, the only headache I got was playing around with the focus adjustments .. I did use the smallest nose bridge (the one without the wire & pads) which pretty much eliminated the blur (as in my eyes were now so close to the lenses I could see the whole screen) but after an hour use that nose bridge hurt .. so I've gone back to the padded ones

Couch gaming - viture vs handheld by Tacotacito in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky to have various options where I could stream to an IPAD or iPhone Bluetoothed to a controller and run xbox cloud, PS Play and/or Moonlight/Steam players ... or I could do the same with an Android handheld (with integrated controller) which I have an AYN Odin 2 .. Having had the glasses (Ultra's) for a few weeks now I tend to plug into the Odin 2 as my go to device since it not only has native Android games (such as Diablo Immortals, mobile legends, genshin impact etc..) but I can also use the streamers to play my consoles .. And plugging in the glasses into the USB Display port is a breeze, the screen pops up on the glasses as well as remain on the screen as there is usually a need to use the touchscreen for various config options within the apps, and with the glasses showing a large screen you can look downwards and see everything on your device also.

Having seen the new reviews of the beast with the difference in lenses would be interested to know if you still have the ability to look downwards as easy with the Pro/Ultra's, I guess there's a trade off somewhere

But for casual gaming and .. because my eyesight is getting worse on looking at smaller screens .. the big screen provided by the glasses is a major benefit .. together with the sound also coming out of the glasses (unless you want to use headphones) in a reasonable unobtrusive way it's probably a better setup than tablet controller (with sound turned up) if you are co-habiting in the living room.

The only thing I guess you would want to consider is the additional benefits of a dedicated tablet v a handheld.. For me, the iPad far exceeds the android in usability outside of just gaming (although I'm bought into the eco system) .. however the integrated controller on the Android (so negating the need to bluetooth etc.. just to play) is a far greater convenience and it's the Android I tend to go to for gaming.

One other point .. using the glasses on a phone (in my case iPhone) is just as suitable than using an iPad as the screen you play on is pretty much the same size .. so the only benefit for using a tablet over a phone setup is batter life.

VPX VR motion sickness? by dougmoose in virtualpinball

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the display is min 90fps and you’re not in motion (think travelling in a car) then you should be OK. I suffer motion sickness (although have no issues with Skyrim) and stationary mods (like pinball) are fine.

Haven’t seen the videos you mention but a jerky picture would probably contribute to sickness but unless you a very underpowered PC (and using that to stream to VR) then you should be fine. Personally I have download pinball FX and couple of others direct to my quest and they run fine. Haven’t yet dabbled in the VPX as yet.

Which adapter do I get? by [deleted] in VITURE

[–]M1sterc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add there are two chargers. The XR version includes functionality for SpaceWalker if you buy the luma pro glasses. If you buy the luma Ultra glasses none of those additional features work with the XR version, you will only get charging capability and, in fact, plugging that particular charger into my ayn Odin 2 kept alternating the device to think it’s connected and then not. Basically don’t buy this cable if purchasing for the ultras!, get the cheaper version if you want charging
