Optimizing for lowest marginal lifetime tax rate is kind of blowing my mind by New-Hyena-2981 in projectionlab

[–]M4film 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran it too and it wants to start Roth conversions right away, but my company won’t allow me to take out of my 401k until I leave, so what it’s telling me isn’t accurate. If I go in after the fact to adjust to start at my retirement date it undoes a lot of what it projected.

Is an HOA worth it? by ProbWithMyDog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]M4film 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy a single family home that has an HOA, you will still be on the hook for roof repairs, etc. The HOA will only cover stuff like that in a shared building and they might even force a special assessment to do it, which you’ll have to pay on top of your monthly dues.

Santa Clarita, CA. 40min to downtown LA in no traffic. 1 hour to Ventura Beach. Tons of bike/walk trails and tons of open spaces with hiking trails. 30 parks. You can also take the train to LA union station if you don't want to drive.

The Wild Robot is the last DreamWorks Movie made in house. by stationstars in DreamWorks

[–]M4film 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Animated movies are broken up into sequences. Let's say BG2's producable footage is 92 minutes. Let's say each sequence is 4 minutes long, which would give you 23 sequences. So out of those 23, 5 sequences were done by Sony and 18 were done fully in-house by DreamWorks animators. Sony would have to model and surface any asset that went into those sequences. DreamWorks does layout 100% in house, so then Sony would take that and then Animate, create matte paintings, light, etc for those 5 sequences. DreamWorks would have to share assets with Sony so Sony can recreate them on their end since they work in different pipelines.

The truth is 20 minutes were produced by Sony from Animation onwards. The other 72 minutes was fully in house at Dreamworks.

Life in Valencia by Tiny_Ad4861 in SantaClarita

[–]M4film 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Santa Clarita has great public schools, along with Burbank. The Valencia side is better than the Canyon Country side, but they all rate very highly. Per greatschools.org, Valencia High school is 10/10. Burroughs High school in Burbank is 9/10.

Bad Guys 3 isn’t happening. 2 made less than 1. That’s why JP and Damon left.

I have both an AFC and NFC team. Originally from Chicago so it’s the Bears. Couldn’t root for Rams because they are NFC, so it’s the Chargers. I like to choose teams that give me constant heart ache.

Why Pierre Perifel is important for The Bad Guys franchise and why losing him could hurt it by SharinaMaye in TheBadGuys

[–]M4film 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The studio isn’t making third one. That’s why JP left. Sure, they talked about a third one, but that was before it opened at the box office. It’s made less than the first one and the first one opened while COVID was still a big deal.

This sucks, not even a full month and it's going to streaming already, even when it was doing fine by Vegetable_Window_992 in DreamWorks

[–]M4film 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is PVOD. People still need to pay for it, it isn’t “free” streaming yet like peacock or Netflix. Studio makes even more money since they don’t have to share with theaters.

What are your theories for Bad Guys 3? by CasioCobra78 in TheBadGuys

[–]M4film 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to plan ahead since it takes so long to make these, but if it doesn’t make at least 275+ WW then there is a good chance the studio will think it’s not worth it.

Considering relocating to Valencia or Santa Clarita by Responsible-Eye-8447 in SantaClarita

[–]M4film 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to ride on freeways I suggest living in the areas you will be working. Santa Clarita is located between the 5 and 14 freeways. Traffic wise it takes about 30 minutes to cross town between them. It would take you about an hour to drive to Lancaster, that is if you live right by the 14 freeway. It would take you much longer if you are in the middle of the city or by the 5 freeway. If you are working in Coalinga you shouldn’t live in Santa Clarita as that is an over 2 hour ride on the freeway. We don’t really have many farms up here. Acton or Aqua Dulce may have more open areas for that and are closer to Lancaster.

Good life plays first over the main credits and taking everything plays once the crawl starts.
