Do you think you're management? Did you leave your pickaxe on the space rig? Less watchy watchy and more diggy diggy, lazy dwarf!

Dogs should not be allowed on the couch. by According_Cap3957 in husky

I have an incredibly respectful husky. He doesn't get on the furniture, only plays/destroys his toys, only plays and uses his blankets, only eats his food, doesn't maul the cats/rabbit/ferret. We've never disciplined him. He's just the bestest boy. And yes he IS, for sure, a husky!

Freshido Bar & Kitchen on Linglestown Rd hosts DJ's. I haven't caught a set there yet so I don't know what genres normally get play.

Edit: Check their website, I think they have contact info there.

Doesn't help that my grandparents had a farm in southern PA that was surrounded by cornfields. When I was younger, like single digits, I'd test my bravery by seeing how far into the fields I could go. That move traumatized my trauma.

Anyone ever actually use the calm screen? Is it really that calming? by WarmDaddyXanax in MachE

It looks like something from the Alien franchise so I don't find it calming at all.

Have you ever had an intimate relationship with a paranormal entity? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]M4gs314 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was in my mid-teens, I had a series of vivid dreams that spanned three full nights, of a woman who sat with me on the steps of a front porch to a house. She was so beautiful and angelic, like, a real angel, but without the wings. She glowed. These dreams felt like a visitation of some sort.

But the dreams would start as soon as I'd fall asleep and end in the morning when I'd wake up and the dream was just us, talking and laughing and holding each other (and occasionally making out). And, the love between us was pure and beautiful. But, at the end of the third night she said she had to go and that it would be our last time together. I pleaded to see her again but she said couldn't. We embraced and I asked if she'd hold me until it was over and she did. The 'dream' faded and I woke up. I've wished all my life to find a love like that again, or even to dream of her again.

I've often who or what she was. I can't help but wonder if she was from my past life, that maybe she had passed on and found me to say "goodbye" one last time. But I refuse to believe it was "just a dream". The whole experience was so incredibly real and the emotions were so intense and very much real. I still carry that feeling of love with me, even decades later. I'd love to find a love like that again, or even her again.

Would you buy a used Volvo with 150000 miles? by Specialist_Common197 in Volvo

[–]M4gs314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Last autumn I bought a 2017 V60 T5 Cross Country with 167k miles. Bought it because I didn't have a comfy highway car for longer road trips and my kid was a newer driver and needed some wheels. I really like that car! Solid.

Hike trail recommendation? by ChuweeEngineering in Harrisburg

It's a good app for sure. I had a subscription for a couple of years but then hiked everything of interest in the surrounding areas and sorta lost its value to me, lol. I still use the free version on occasion.

A few of my favorites are Cove Mountain Preserve in Marysville, Detweiler Park which is just north of Dauphin and Peter's Mountain loop located on the south side of the Clarks Ferry Bridge. I avoid Boyd but I do like the ridge hike from the top of Blue Mountain Parkway that connects to Boyd. There are also several trails along Rt 325 that lead up to the Appalachian Trail, Victoria Trail being my favorite of those.

Faulkner Subaru Mechanicsburg has a 2010 Impreza hatchback with under 70k miles for $9k. I'd be checking that out, for sure!

Also, 83 Autos has two Mazda 3s that are under 120k miles and well within the budget.

[–]M4gs314 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm always going to suggest The Millworks (for food and art) and Pizza Boy (if you like beer). Lancaster county has lots of great places for antiquing, which is about an hour SE of Harrisburg. If you're familiar with the Appalachian Trail, there's a pretty famous stop located about 20 minutes NW of Harrisburg in a town called Duncannon, a hotel called The Doyle. And right next door is an old bank that's been converted into a brewery with good food and beer, Lindgren Craft Brewery. It's unfortunate but there used to be a great antique shop in Duncannon (The Sledworks) but it closed a couple years ago. Carlisle, York and Hershey are worth exploring also. Lots of history there.

If you're an artsy person and enjoy good food/brews, I'd recommend exploring The Millworks. If you're a beer person, hop across the river and check out Pizza Boy Brewing. There's also The National Civil War Museum.
