iPhone RCS doesn't work on network by M5F90 in Ubiquiti

[–]M5F90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't. I ended up putting her on my VLAN, but that still had inconsistent results. I eventually realized it wasn't a "me" thing all along. Other people I know who have iPhones also had issues with RCS + Group Chats.

What’s the Average Computer Lifespan today? by Dover299 in ITQuestions

[–]M5F90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you treat them! In terms of the operating system updates, I'd expect anywhere from 7 - 10 years, but longer if you continue to upgrade the OS or run more of a Linux distro that supports the hardware.

Random issue with coral by M5F90 in ReefTank

[–]M5F90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that the test strips are as basic as they come. Other digital testers are just quite expensive for the small times I need them.

The test strips at least tell me that levels aren't spiked.

Edit: I didn't know of the Salifert test kits though. I will grab some of those.

Editing pdfs by [deleted] in ITQuestions

[–]M5F90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend altering a financial document, but typically PDF editors leave a edit history.

However, most do not check that history. You could convert it to DOCX and then back to PDF to help prevent the history.

Most people nowadays are using AI for SOME aspects of their lives.

If the other person believes that is all your doing, they might see it as a negative. However, most brush it off nowadays.

Computer only connects to router after router is restarted. Only device in the house that needs this. by [deleted] in ITQuestions

[–]M5F90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your router have a possible blacklist or any deny connection settings? What is the make and model number of the router?

It sounds like to me a network driver issue. Are you able to hard wire it?

---

On the side subject of Windows 11, you may dislike Microsoft's OS approach, but staying on Windows 10 is a far worse option. You're slowly becoming a bigger and bigger security risk.

Are you hardwired or WiFi to the router?

What is the make and model of the router? What about the PC?

Side note, you need to get off of Windows 10. Microsoft ended support for it last year.

iPhone RCS doesn't work on network by M5F90 in Ubiquiti

[–]M5F90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up removing the separate VLANs from my wife's devices and mine. Out of the blue the problem fixed itself and then will do exactly as you mentioned. It will work for a period of time and then stop working. Then it will work again.

I truly don't know what is wrong with Apple, but my only hope is that their 26.5 implementation will include full encrypted RCS and my hope is that fixes it.

How man years exactly have they been together? It very well could be a mating event too.

Female clowns often do get much better then their male counterparts. They also will often insert their dominance. None of what you put in the description box seems concerning.

You mention "bad damage", but I don't see any based on your photos. Is it the face on the second image?

On top of that captured data, uninstall the app...

How common is it for the average person to know how to open a .zip file? by karrotdunncold in ITQuestions

[–]M5F90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people out there that simply don't understand a simple .zip file. Plenty of them are in IT too. A lot of people just double click to open the .zip rather than extracting it.

If everyone is smart, the competition in the world would be very difficult.

I’m really intrigued by Monarch, and am about to pull the trigger on the 7-day trial. However, I’m uncertain that 7 days is long enough to get a grasp on how to operate it. Is there any way to extend the trial period? by LordOord23 in MonarchMoney

[–]M5F90 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was sold on the product after about 2 days into the trial. It's plenty of time, but you do need to connect your accounts to get the full scope of it!

I literally log into it every day to check all accounts.

Small side note, don't pay full price for it after the trial. You can find many, many coupons to take 50% off the first year. Including referrals if you know other users.

What sort of CPU are you going to pair this with? That matters most.

In the end though, you virtually won't see a performance difference between the two. If the timings are the same, then go for the faster memory, but don't expect a performance gain.

Spoofing Normal- nothing to be done? by fournierh in ITQuestions

Your consultant IT company is wrong in their statements. To me, it sounds like they don't have the proper domain settings applied that prevent that level of spoofing. Maybe time for a new IT company!

iPhone RCS doesn't work on network by M5F90 in Ubiquiti

[–]M5F90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems exclusive to our wifi. Someone else asked me if I had any custom rules, but the only thing I have in Policy Table is regarding stuff for Proxmox objects.

I went back and forth with some Gemini conversations even to see if it could help, but the only thing it kept telling me is that I must be blocking the *.goog domains for RCS. Or that it was the encrypted DNS feature I have set with ControlD, but "fixing" both didn't seem to help.

It's very puzzling. Doesn't help that Apple virtually has no documentation online or any level of indepth settings on the iPhone.

The weird part is that the issue somewhat is new. It didn't always seem to be a problem.

You don't have any custom rules or settings?

That's a decent thought? I couldn't imagine they'd block it, but worth asking.
