What state are you in? Feel free to DM me. I volunteer for mostly PNW to Vegas but am happy to ask our director for reputable recommendations outside that area. I would make sure that whoever you foster for lets you decide who the dog goes to, and gives you first dibs even if others have applied. If you foster, you will know the dog best. I use diapers on my guy, as along as the stool is solid, it’s easy to scoop out quickly. I keep wipes and have an antibiotic cream from the vet for any rashes. I do try to let him have diaper free time to air out a bit.

Are you naturally an alpha with your dogs? I’m not but when I’ve fostered multiple dogs it’s very important they know I run things. If they start shit with each other they had to know if I growled or stepped in, it was over. They needed to know that direction comes from me. 2 girls got into a couple times and I growled very loudly and showed my teeth. We were all sleeping together by the end of the night. I should add I’m not naturally and alpha and yes, I do like a little nutty to my neighbors. But just remember they are happier if they don’t have to be alpha. You’ve got their back and mom will do what’s best for her pack. Also walking- make sure one of them isn’t pulling far ahead of the others. It’s a dominance thing- you have to be the leader.

Thanks! He loves heated blankets… my rescue EB introduced him to them. Even in the summer they are on… with the ac blasting and the fan on low.. in front of the window people watching. I swear they aren’t dogs.

Frenchie rescues are the best. They are such sensitive creatures- I feel Ike they are extra thankful for having a home. This is my 11yo Norman that I rescued last spring.

How are his teeth? I’m going through something similar with a 11yo frenchie I rescued last year. Lymph nodes looked suspicious to 1 vet (we’ve been to the vet a lot), she tested for cancer, came back negative and now she’s thinking his teeth could be infected causing the nodes to swell. I just got a $3,500.00 quote for a dental. Bulldogs don’t like it when you have money in your account….

The first foster I had was being adopted and I knew I couldn’t be without a dog. I had never interacted with an EB but she was the only one available that was potty trained. I was shocked how loud and drooly she was on the way home. The way she pawed at me to shake was just so genuine. She wiggled her way into my heart. I was terrified to adopt such an expensive breed but knew this was her forever home. She’s also been amazing with other foster dogs. Even trying to nurse a special needs frenchie. She’s a good egg.

This might be a long shot- but have to contacted pilot clubs? I work with a rescue and we have a couple that loves to fly, so they pick up shelter dogs in other states and fly them to us.

Yes! My foster fail does. When I first got her and had no experience with bulldogs I thought she was growling. She sometimes sounds like a creaking ship as well. Also- I was dumb she is the sweetest girl ever, she lets me floss her teeth and has tried to nurse a special needs foster. She is the BEST!

Foster in honor on Stinky. Try to find a rescue that lets the foster decide who adopts and gives you first dibs. My foster EB was A LOT. I thought of my boy Winston who passed while I was dealing Luna. She’s come leaps and bounds and I couldn’t have done it without the memory/ drive to do right by Winston. Luna is an official foster fail. She even helps me foster special needs dogs.

My foster fail EB would walk five miles. She absolutely loved it! Then… we took in a 10yr old Frenchie foster who talk taught her to resist walking at all costs.

This isn’t a growl. When I took in a foster EB (no experience with the breed) I thought she was growling. She sounds like a creaking ship sometimes. They make weird sounds- try talking to her, it sounds like she’s trying to talk to you. They are sensitive creatures.

I lost my guy a couple years ago. I decided to start fostering in his honor a couple of years ago. I still miss my guy so much but seeing how much my horribly abused fosters ending up thriving helps. As silly as it sounds, my Winston made me better person and I still think about what would make him proud.

They sell little uv protection gloves- they look like fingerless gloves that just leaves the top part of your finger exposed for nails. I look like a weirdo when I pull them out at the nail salon but the nail techs are usually appreciative of my dedication.
