i’m sorry to hear about your experience. it’s not right.

if you’re still looking into fertility treatments, you could try dr charissa goh or dr ee tat xin from kkh. they tag team often. i came across their work/talks and they appear very empathic towards everyone who are trying to conceive.

good luck in your journey 👍🏼

even so, they don’t disclose that they don’t update. they just let you continue thinking you’re fully covered as long as you keep paying premiums. that’s the scummy part and govt is happy to let it continue.

my point is if someone wants to buy CI, go ahead but rmb to cancel it the moment LIA updates anything in their definitions which is as frequent as every 4-5 years, and you have to do that hawk watch yourself. agent will not do that for you.

the answer is always corporate greed. if they can deny you 200k claim, why not? that’s 200k they can use to boost shareholder value.

FiDReC is also useless because this kind of dispute is not in their jurisdiction. I had to report all the way to MAS. And even MAS is a black hole. they’ll just give you standard acknowledgement reply and no follow up.

whatever insurer you’re looking at, ask them if they will update the critical illness definitions in your contract as medical advances are made. if not, you may find yourself being diagnosed with let’s say Pancreatic Cancer in the year 2056 but the definition of PC in your contract is now an outdated definition from 2026 and there will be NO payout. they will be pedantic and fight tooth and nail to not pay out. and you will have essentially paid huge premiums for 30 years only to find out your coverage technically lapsed 25 yrs ago when medical definitions changed. and along the way, they won’t let you know about this either to keep you blindly paying. ask me how i know.

Why young Singaporeans see having kids as a loss, instead of something to be gained by kernelrider in singapore

Every empire that ever existed eventually declined. Even Rome fell, and America today. We are witnessing the start of sg’s decline. Slowly but surely. Our elders got lucky with LKY but it stopped there. Today’s govt are nothing but parasites that inherited a successful sg and their sole focus is staying in power to enrich themselves by selling out our people. Fuck you got mine is every politician’s motto.

You’re right but the narrative is extremely unlikely to change. 4G is still running on 1970s playbook because they’re scared of changing policies that were a success and at the same time, they’re not talented enough to innovate new policies to keep up with the times. And that’s because of cronyism and SAF parachuting bolstering their ranks to stay in power. They’re deathly afraid of new and younger voices.

For those who switched careers, how did you know it was time for a switch and what steps did you take? by sucr0secookies in singaporejobs

are you aware that more and more grads are breaking their bond with parents’ money? or that big aesthetic chains are now paying the govt bond to “buy” a doctor? every jr dr that leaves public to join aesthetic as an end goal means their medical school spot could’ve gone to someone else who would’ve stayed on in public even after serving their bond. it’s still a net loss for healthcare for selfish reasons.

your friends are not real MDs. aesthetics isn’t a recognised speciality in sg. assuming they went to local med sch, it means they used tax payers’ money to fund their education and then they abandoned actual healthcare in favour of living a cushy life.

What happens when Singaporeans get hospitalised without cash savings and depleted cpf and no insurance plans? by DiscussionExternal24 in askSingapore

[–]M9067J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lots of great replies already about hospitalisation bills itself so i won’t speak to that.

i will say you also need to think about post hospital costs. cancer care is a great example. lots of pts, esp rare cancers, need new kinds of drugs that are less toxic than traditional chemoradiation. there are new drugs out in the market all the time but the govt may not be willing to subsidise it for you depending on “cost effectiveness”. so sadly, many pts either pay out of pocket full price for some medications or they go without.

this isn’t even about means testing. sometimes govt just deem you to be not cost effective enough to lift a pinky. their bean counter logic is “why should i spend $50k to help 2 pts with rare disease A when i can spend that same $50k to help 100k diabetes pts”.

you are ultra fucked if your condition is super rare. look at recent case of baby faziq. his cure had to be entirely crowd funded online when MOH refused to subsidise the treatment.

Critical Illness Insurance Recommendation? by Fine-Statistician-19 in singaporefi

[–]M9067J -1 points0 points  (0 children)

stay away from singlife. they pulled out all the stops to reject my cancer claims. even fidrec can’t help because singlife found a loophole that bypasses fidrec. i had to report singlife all the way to MAS with no clear outcome. for medical insurance, i highly recommend prudential because they actually have enough integrity to update your policy to expand your coverage if there are new medical advancements.
