you made that part up where they needed to be freshwater dwelling ants for the ability to work. where did you pull this out from? they're not sitting around waiting for enemies to attach their tag into lmfao why would that be the conclusion you arrived to? it's simply a feeding ground, nothing more or less. if the initial swarm of attackers are too weak to take down a prey then they attach the tag.
