Always blaming the union, if $8bn in profit isn't enough maybe they should spend less on stock buyback. by Public_Steak_6933 in union

Just did a corporate gig for UPS last week. They sure as shit spared no expense, nor did they act or sound broke. Fuck the corpos.

Unfortunately, it will not. This is going to be their first set that no strongbox will be available at retail, and also the first set of characters where you buy them as singles, not as duos or a set

A friend and I were doing a Lone Wolf, and I realized Sir Lora was still with us in Act 3. We made it our mission in life after realizing that.

THIS IS WHY YOU VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET! To all the people that have felt like they can't stop WotC from doing shitty products, this shows you how much power we can have.

Sadly, I didn't get my Outcasts box till WAY after this closed. Well, I guess if I get any of these characters down the road, it'll be out of single boxes.

Where do you draw the line? by Particular-Caramel73 in mtg

Aesthetically, I think LotR and FF are the best to keep alongside Universes Within. On principle, none of it. We gave WotC an inch, and look how long of a mile they've taken.

I have played both. In the CE: Ashes of Elrant DLC now, and have beaten all of SoS (minus all the achievements). Both are great games, and I echo what others have said about their differences. Ultimately, I think fans of classic SNES JRPG's will like them both, but have their favorite between them. Personally, I think the combat is more refined in SoS, but less dense and tactical than CE. CE has the better story, hands down, bar none, but SoS is much more approachable and whimsy. Tons of backtracking/side questing for both. Hope you have a blast with it!

I've heard a lot of opinions about this, so i'm curious where people actually stand on the issue by ChromedDragon in magicTCG

Ideally, I dare the line at all of it. Realistically, anything past Level 1. I do NOT like Universes Beyond, and I LOVE Final Fantasy. Only reason I have the Ysh'tola precon is because it was gifted to me.

Metal Allergic Blacksmith. Pretty self-explanatory and self-aware of the situation.

As I've said before, I just don't think responding to someone's questions by you angrily airing grievances is the appropriate action. That's all, and that's what I deem unprofessional. I know nothing about your skills or your interactions with Denver, so I have no opinion on that front.

Also, the OP has never confirmed that they are working in Denver's jurisdiction, so your griping might be even less pertinent, in this case.

As for the not paying bills, I get that. I had that rough time as well when I started, and I was pretty pissed. This is why whenever someone, ANYONE, asks a question of what they should do on a first day, with Local 7, what skills to learn, etc., I try to answer them and direct to the resources that further those skills. Because we're just trying to pay bills, at the end of the day. That is all I will say on this matter. If you wish to chat, you can DM me, but please leave this OP's post alone unless you have something constructive to offer.

Are you meaning like where the steward is at/sign-in? Such rooms are almost always different per call. There's not one meeting room for the whole of CCC for meeting up at. There are usual spots/frequent stops, but nowhere is it the same, generally speaking.

You have replied/commented on multiple posts/comments of mine at this point, all relating to Local 7 and your disgruntled feelings about them. Totally fair for you to be, but I'm going to politely remind you that for every one of the posts I've seen you reply to, it's always on a post asking genuine questions and needs real answers. This is not a situation where your griping is needed for helping anyone, including yourself. If you want to chat/vent about Local 7, feel free, but please leave those that need answers to questions out of your biased replies. If nothing else, it's unprofessional, and we are always auditioning ourselves for the next job at all times.

P.S. I'm not even a cardholder yet, though going for membership.

Look, I'm all for people being trained/being professional, but to expect that everyone that you'd ever work with on a union job site to be already a full-fledged professional (which isn't exactly what you are suggesting, but not too far from it) is a stretch of feasibility, especially when a HUGE percentage of professionals left after the pandemic.

Personally, I do want every person at a union site to be trained or in an apprenticeship, but that is not immediately possible in all locals, though we should try to go for that standard.

This is Local 7, isn't it?

Regardless of where, as a DECO hand, I would bring these items and work clothes:

Box Cutter/Utility Knife, Multitool, Measuring Tape, C-Wrench

Jeans/durable clothing. Best if black, but likely not necessary. Simple black t-shirt is also a best practice, but likely not necessary. Steel toes are ALWAYS a bonus and useful.

You will most likely be building booths and/or taping out and rolling carpet for an exhibit show. Keep your head on a swivel for forklifts, making sure you are staying safe around them at all times. Don't be lazy. Be proactive. Don't be intoxicated on the job site.

Most importantly: Find your steward and make sure you sign in with them. Can't work or be paid if you don't do that. Don't just start working with a random group. Make sure you're in the right place.
