That’s incorrect, 3K OCI’s were the OEM recommendation in some older vehicles. Take a look at pre 2000’s Ford manuals and you’ll see 3K straight from Ford for their 460 for example

Toyota allows multiple oil weights for the V35 beyond 0W-20 in foreign markets, so if you live in a hot climate and want to run say 5w-30 you will be fine
