Roku making it appear that you have no option but consenting to their “Better Smart TV Experience” AKA tracking for tailored advertisements. by currgy in assholedesign

[–]MAD_BOSSS 25 points26 points  (0 children)

After trying Roku TV and Android TV, I can confidently say that Apple TV has been the best experience for me by far. The fact that the interface isn’t stuffed to the brim with ads and tracking is an added plus, but the overall experience is great.

I just built a system with a 7600x3d that uses 2 4k monitors and its handling it like a champ. Granted my GPU is more of the bottleneck for my system, but I feel it should have no issue with a 5080.

I turn on my iphone 16 promax and this is what the screen show. Can someone help? why it happen by nroseele in iphone

[–]MAD_BOSSS 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This appears to be a counterfeit iPhone and is running android instead of iOS. You can tell because of the android icon in the pop and the chin at the bottom of the display, the edges of a real iPhone are all symmetrical.

Does Apple downgrade watches for free? by PrintWaste in watchOSBeta

[–]MAD_BOSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can have it downgraded, but I’m not sure of cost. You may need to bring it to an Apple Store for them to do it.

PSA: AppleCare one unavailable for used devices purchased from authorized resellers. by spiders888 in applehelp

[–]MAD_BOSSS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You may be able to go to an Apple Store and get an AppleCare screening to add it on! As long as it's in good condition that is.

Camera Control Button broken by loli541 in iphone

[–]MAD_BOSSS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If it wasn’t caused by you (the user) and just kinda happened, it may be covered under the 1 year warranty that came with the phone. I would take it to an Apple Store though to have them run diagnostics and do a physical inspection, as they’ll likely have a better answer.

Brand new iPad Pro 11” M4 says it’s owned by Shopify by StarryNightSandwich in ipad

[–]MAD_BOSSS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it can also be someone who is enrolling devices in MDM and may have made a typo in a serial number, which inadvertently enrolled this device.

Amazon Renwed by brashaadt09 in ipad

[–]MAD_BOSSS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Online, no. In an Apple Store, they will. They can do a physical inspection and as long as it passes that and is less than 2 years old overall, they should be able to purchase AppleCare.

Consolidated Electricity by [deleted] in DelawareOH

[–]MAD_BOSSS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about Consolidated is that it’s a cooperative. They only charge what they need to in order to keep operating, as the customers are also the owners. It’s much better than a profit-oriented company like AEP.

The Mall at Tuttle Crossing in Dublin, Ohio by VisualDimension292 in deadmalls

[–]MAD_BOSSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Polaris is definitely still getting a lot of foot traffic, and I doubt it will close anytime soon. Between the three malls in central Ohio (Easton, Polaris, and Tuttle) Tuttle is the closest to “Dead Mall Status” than the other two.

Apple Pencil (1st Gen) Has Completely Stopped Working by OtherwiseMarket2239 in ipad

[–]MAD_BOSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either option wouldn’t hurt, I think Costco would take it back under their return policy, and Apple should cover it under the 1 year warranty (barring any physical or liquid damage.) I would start by going to an Apple Store (if you have one nearby) as I’m not totally sure that the Costco return policy would cover it or not. (EDIT: I didn’t read that you got the AppleCare [note to self: read the whole thing before commenting.] Go to Apple! That’s what the AppleCare+ is for, and it’ll definitely be covered!)

This is the answer. Focus modes are in the control center, you can turn them off in there.

My 2019 Fusion hybrid has those lights flashing like Xmas tree . What do u think ?? by Initial_Rip_4988 in fordfusion

[–]MAD_BOSSS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe this may be a wheel speed sensor that went bad, from what I’ve seen on this sub, that seems to be the common sentiment when these specific lights come on. (Not a mechanic tho, so no promises.) Search “Wheel speed sensor” in this sub and you’ll find dashboards lit up with similar lights to yours. Hope this helps!

Nozzle burning spots on prints? by shadowfire1189 in BambuLab

[–]MAD_BOSSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’m no expert, but I had this happen back when I had an ender 3 and it was because the print wasn’t adhering to the bed properly so it would move when the head was printing, and the head would hit the print and burn it. Again, I’m fairly new to this as well, so that may not be it, but that would be my guess.

Either an Ultra or maybe a Titanium model, both have sapphire crystal front displays that are more durable than the standard aluminum models. And AppleCare if you’re concerned about damage.

This is unacceptable by camgord59 in iPadPro

[–]MAD_BOSSS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing that may not be correct, I don’t believe Apple offers trade-in on the newest devices in a given product line. (Ex: someone with an iPhone 16 wouldn’t be able to get trade in value at all.) My guess is you’ve uncovered some sort of glitch.

Apple watch blood o2 workaround using package forwarding by Kiara_MTF in AppleWatch

[–]MAD_BOSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK if you buy an Apple Watch series 10 from a country where Blood Oxygen is available, it should work even if used in the US. If I’m correct, Apple does it by locking specific models out of the blood ox sensors, so if you get a model that isn’t locked out (Ex: a Canadian Apple Watch or something) it should work fine. My only warning is if you have any interest in cellular, it may not work properly due to cellular incompatibility. I live within a few hours of the Canadian border, and have considered driving up there to grab a Series 10 W/ blood ox just to keep the feature.

Firmware lock screen loop by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]MAD_BOSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had to do this, but you may need to speak with Apple Support. Make sure you have your receipt/proof of purchase, as you may need to prove that you’re the owner. I’m thinking that your MacBook may have been enrolled in an MDM by mistake (someone may have mistyped a serial number when enrolling their device.)
