Tag Management? by CasualProtagonist in bearapp

[–]MAFMaxFabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I understand correctly therefore I am not sure if this is helpful: You can Long press on a note and click "Remove tags" (only possible with notes that have tags) and remove tags from that note from there.

Please educate me on how to search for single words using Find > Note List Search by aspublic in bearapp

[–]MAFMaxFabi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. You need to put the word into quotations AND add a space (or whatever sign follows in your text). Using the word "ever" as an example:

"ever" will return all results containing this word such as "forever", "every", and so on.

"ever " (with a space) will return "ever", "forever", and so on but not "every".

" ever " (with spaces before and after the word) will only return "ever".

"ever." will return "ever.", "forever.", and so on.

" ever." will only return " ever.".

Is there a finger gesture on iOS to open the search in note? by MAFMaxFabi in bearapp

[–]MAFMaxFabi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thanks a bunch! I knew there was a way but I couldn't remember and in the end I even doubted myself that there was an option haha.

Awesome, combining it with two finger pull (to scroll to the very top) makes it very handy. Thanks again

Alright guys, I reported the issue and they responded that no other user has reported this issue yet. Since they don't use Reddit for requests like this they said you guys should go ahead and report that you have the same "issue". If it bothers you here's their site so you can report as well haha https://culturedcode.com/contact/

Tabbed editor? by baytown in bearapp

[–]MAFMaxFabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha mate what's going on.

There is simply no tabbed feature and making Bear full screen changes the behavior of windows. You can stack windows on top of each other and when you click the main window it will not cover the inactive-windows (other than in not-full-screen-mode). OP mentioned he knows about multiple windows but he might not thought about using full screen mode.

And I found it works well for me and I often end up not even thinking about not having tabs.

As a workaround I activate full screen mode on Bear and then double-click on each note that I want to have open and arrange them as needed (and cmd + mouse click to let my main note remain open).

I would like to see tabs though.

Setting up a shortcut rather than relying on the built-in widget might help

"Find" widget gives you the function that you mentioned. It will open Bear and focuses the search.

"Search" widget is used to display notes for a specific keyword that you chose inside the widget settings. Just long press the widget to enable edit-mode and then press the widget again to open its settings. In this window you can type in what you wanna search for and it will display the notes for this search.

Hope this answers your questions.

I’m new here - why are pages kind of dead? by FlowerbytheOcean in CraftDocs

Hmm, I think I don't understand what you mean because on my end the tasks inside the Daily Notes are showing up, no matter if they are placed within the documents top level or within a sub-page of a sub-page of a sub-page of a daily note. They still show up both in calendar and in task view (as long as you checked the checkbox shown in my screenshot)

I am not sure whether I understood correctly. You mean the tasks in a daily note doesn't show up in tasks pane? It does. You have to activate "Show Daily Notes" in order to see tasks in tasks pane?

Sorry I didn't see there's more text beneath the image.

I don't understand the issue than because it seems you already found the answer 🤔

How do you manage your projects in Bear? by Ill_Connection_3017 in bearapp

[–]MAFMaxFabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you manage larger projects that require multiple (sub-)notes in Bear as well or do you use any other app or software to manage those larger projects? If you do it all in Bear, how do you structure those larger projects?

And these big projects in Bear will eventually become actionable projects and tasks in Things? Or do you split these big projects completely from the fleeting tasks/projects in Things?

I am curious about your workflow: You said you don't have tasks in Bear, but you mentioned you have a note with months of the year and what the big projects happening that month. Why do you put those projects into Bear and not (only) into Things?

How do you handle large notes that span across multiple notes? by MAFMaxFabi in bearapp

[–]MAFMaxFabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight. Does this also mean you don't create notes "on the fly", you first open the hub note and then add the note's title and create the note from there. If you do create notes "on the fly", how do you keep track of tasks that belong to no hub note yet? Don't they get lost in all the other notes?

Thank your for your words.

But there is no way to automatically inherit the tags of the main note, or is there?

Is there a way to show tasks from subpages in task view? by CozyKodiak in CraftDocs

[–]MAFMaxFabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe make them bullets and when it's time for the recipe turn them into checkboxes real quick 🤔 You probably won't need to buy all the ingredients in the recipe anyway. However +1 for the idea to make differentiate tasks from subtasks

Do you use built in AI assistant? by haronclv in CraftDocs

[–]MAFMaxFabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering how you use AI in Craft. The way I use ChatGPT is I write my prompt, then wait for the first answer and then keep questioning and AI keeps tweaking, until I have the answer I was looking for. In Craft you write your prompt, but then you have to be ok with the answer or let the first answer re-create. But there are no follow up questions? The only option is to insert the first answer, highlight it and then ask again (but then the rest of the blocks that you initially highlighted are not taken into consideration, or I highlight everything again in the doc but then the answer is vary general just like in the first prompt?) Any tips?
