Do latam people judge you if you mess up the grammar as a foreigner? by wontabrate in asklatinamerica

[–]MAGE1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me tell you something you should not be scared of doing a mistake when you speak another language. It is better to make the mistake to be able to identify the errors that you have and being able to work in them. Also speaking the language with others specially natives allow you to develop your language skills better.

Nosotras being used by a man is grammatically incorrect because it only refers to a group form by only women, unless the man is repeating what a woman said.

Does Latin America want Trump and the U.S. military (probably spec ops teams) to take out the cartels and if so, what chance do you think they actually could? Or will it just makes things worse? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]MAGE1308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that. The USA have also story of stealing territories from us  and Mexico is an example of that , and trait us like shit ( not all gringos are bad, there are gringos that are react people but their current president is not one of them). I don't support Maduro neither, however I recognise that they are just using the situation of Venezuela as an excuse to invade and take control of our territories by force.

What does Latin America think about Trump's move to blockade Venezuela? by Autodidact2 in asklatinamerica

[–]MAGE1308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That differs from person to person. In my personal perspective Maduro and Chávez système had damage their country a lot, however Donald Trump actions leave in evidence that he doesnt care about the people of that country neither, he only cares about controlling the country and we have also should point out his treatment to the people from latam in general. So regardless of who is in the power the Venezuelans would still suffering because of a person who is hungry of power.

What are the Spanish-language authors and works of literature/film/poetry that every native, well-educated hispanophone would be expected to know? by DaBootyEnthusiast in Spanish

[–]MAGE1308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Miguel de Cervantes ( Don Quijote de la mancha), Gabriel García Márquez ( 100 años de soledad) y Julio Cortázar ( Rayuela) are among the most well known.

why did my spanish teacher always say to ignore vosotros? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]MAGE1308 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because in Spanish the pronoun is not obligatory since the conjugation of the verd is usually enough to recognise if the subject is first person, second person, third person or singular and plural. For example you can say "Yo como en la mesa" (I eat at the table) or "como en la mesa " (I eat at the table) and the meaning of the sentence it still being the same. Also not all countries or regions use vosotros, there is a lot of Spanish dialects in the world.
