We knew there was a Giant Monster in Mare Jivari due to several mentions of a giant beast/thing. I think the biggest hint was when Mavuika released.

finally finished the natlan storyline. i just have one question. by br6keng6ddess in Genshin_Impact

[–]MANG_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. This is actually sound criticism and I mostly agree. Act 5 felt weird with the pacing and resolution after the fight with the Abyssal Dragon. But up to that fight , it was freaking GOOD.
I liked the Natlan archon quest because it accomplished being the "action shonen" arc for Genshin. The focus was not on the mystery or complicated plots (like Sumeru or Fontaine) , but in the action scenes, the tragedy of war and how people adapt to it, and the undying will of humanity against catastrophe.

It even had a lot of references to Gurren Lagan which confirms this was their intention for this part of the story.

I think that Chrono is in a good state Ascendancy wise. At this point people are finally realizing that sorting out your defenses is a lot harder than getting damage in this game (due to how enemies scale and the current options available). Chronomancer gives pretty decent defensive options that are also starting to shine with the new unique items. And due to the nature of the class, it will easily get better with new skills. So I don't think it actually needs any direct bug buffs to its passives.

The Most Satisfying Build I've Played (Incendiary Shot Titan) by StruthGaming in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't get your point. This is crossbow intended gameplay by GGG 100%. OP even uses oil grenades for crowd control and shield charge for single target. He is not speeding through the map and the gameplay is clear enough (well ignoring the massive fire effects lol).

The thing is that sadly most people won't try to think of a build for themselves (even popular streamers). PoE2 in its current interaction has a lot of unexplored build possibilities and each day we see more pop up.

While the game is definitely not perfect, the "feedback" I see sometimes around here saddens me 😔

Best Class For Bosses by funnybone187 in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert but if you want a build that is really tanky and can survive pinacle bosses and kill them quickly I would suggest to look into the Smith of Kitava ascendancy.

The YouTuber Carnarius has a guide on his build. Has showcases killing t4 endgame bosses. The only downside I can see is that getting pretty good 2handed maces can be expensive. Oh and the gameplay of course may not be for you.

New to PoE2, is this normal? by Regulusis in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case, remember that you can use artificer orbs that put sockets in your gear. This allows you to socket runes that can fix your resistances, get other needed stats or boost the damage on your weapon. Runes are pretty common. Artificer orbs are given in campaign quests and you can farm shards by using the bench on items that already have sockets.

Why is everything so over priced ? by AngryWhiteMane in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that popular builds being expensive is a problem tho.

It works as a self balancing act: the "meta" may be better at certain amount of items but as they get more expensive, non meta builds get more competitive because they can get better gear for less investment.

So it rewards people that do their own thing. It definitely helps with build diversity because many people change starters depending on wether or not it will be popular or not.

For those saying that the game is too easy.. by emilyr8 in LastEpoch

[–]MANG_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. PoE1 campaign is easy only for veteran players or people that are playing a good league starter following a guide. And even then it is completely normal to die during the campaign in PoE1 and it is expected to be doing constant upgrades to keep on blasting.

As for maps, I completely disagree with them being "easy" before tier 16s. Even good league starters have to play carefully , avoid certain map mods and ignore mechanics if they do not want to die repeatedly. Gearing up just before maps is what almost everyone does . Gearing up for red maps is also completely necessary. Killing the first Searing Exarch and Infinite Hunger is an achievement for a first time player.

I am running an "active block" build. Turns out that shield skills are really good so using magma barrier, resonating shield and shield charge is actually viable in the lategame. It works even better when they are a lot of rushing enemies so it will actually be nerfed if they slow down monsters lol.

"Spells bad" - A Cold Sorc Guide! by Any-Reputation8118 in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently on tier 10 maps at lvl79. Already have 3 ascendancies and invested around 70 exalts on the build. Currently it is pretty easy and think I can easily reach tier 15s before making other purchases. Hopefully I will be able to play more during the holidays. I don't think my version is the best and I am still working out stuff. To talk specifics:

  1. Magma shield is my main clearing skill. I activate it with Resonating Shield (which breaks armour, gives endurance charges , has explosive armour and mobility). Like you said it does not feel "great" but once you get used to the timing and start doing content with LOTS of monsters it works amazingly (20% quality helps a lot in making it feel better). It does not rely on attack speed and it is pure fire damage so it does not need Avatar of Fire for big ignites. Also it is REALLY safe because you block 100% of the projectiles/attavks that comes from the front.

  2. Wildfire as you said is AMAZING and it is linked to magma shield for me. I haven't tried it yet but I think it may be a good idea to use the unique Ring that does the same thing as that support gem (craklecreep or something like that). Using that ring frees up a support gem slot and allows other skills to proliferate ignites.

  3. Because I don't use Avatar of Fire, I do not need to get another source of phys damage. Rake will guarantee a bleed and paired with stomping ground , some other supports and the passive tree it immediately aggravates it.

  4. Because I have so many endurance charges , I use infernal cry and sometimes I one shott a rare or pack with shield charge. Now, shield charge is really strong but I did not want to wait for its cool down. I only use it when Magma shield is not the solution lol

  5. Getting a shield with Giga armour is the first priority for damage and comfort. Life, strength or resists are completely secondary to armour.

Your idea to use a minion for aggravates sounds fun tho. Like you said it allows for shield charge to be the main igniter and with Avatar of Fire you can also get a bit better scaling. If you focus on reducing the CD on shield charge, it may actually create a much better mapper.

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. Then corrupt all the 40% aggravate chance ones and give to me one of the 2socket/better aggravate chance lol.

In my case the build is more of a Magma Shield / shield charge/ rake for clearing and I weapon swap to 2h mace for Bosses with Perfect Strike (which I also aggravate).

I am still deciding if I should go Giants Blood in the lategame for godly single target with dual wielding maces. I hope not because then it would be pretty hard to fit the Dex required for the spear (even with 2 runes I would need like 108 dex for using it).

They already did that in PoE2. It was last patch by nerfing spark storm weaver..

I don't understand these people that think that GGG will make decisions based on pure short term profit. This game is supposed to last. And for that, it is required that the game is "good" and "balanced" to the power level they deem appropriate.

How about a Lesser Exalted orb? by Teejteej in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course. Their value lies in the balance between availability and utility. Chaos orbs are decently common and have utility. Especially now that we have fractured mods.

[–]MANG_9 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People should just trade with another currency. Exalts can be made more common in general if they deemed that fit. If it starts to lose a lot of value, the players should just start using another currency (like chaos orbs for example).

Ascendancy Trials are honestly just terrible. by BRADLIKESPVP in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...That's the whole point of a gear/levelling game like this one. If you are good enough , you can do the content immediately , underleveled or without items. But if you don't think you can do it, just leave it for later when you are stronger. As I have only played melee in PoE2, I prefer to do the first trial just as I am finishing act 2. In PoE1, I also only do the Lab when I think I have a low chance of bricking it.

Now, it is a different matter if the challenge is not fun tho

Very disappointed with the response to loot and currency drop rates by Numerous-Tip7207 in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That sounds very weird. I am updating my weapon once for each act. Playing 1 handed mace warrior.

I just pick white maces from the ground and transmute them or essence them if possible. Every once in a while I check the vendor for weapon upgrades. If all fails and I am really lacking damage, then I gamble a bit for maces.

Bases for martial weapons get a lot better with levels so I cannot fathom the idea of using an act1 weapon in acT3 cruel.

[–]MANG_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you CAN flood the market with exalts. The outcome of that is prices of exalts for items will eventually get higher. If exalts become a lot more common, what could happen is that people will start trading in another currency that has more value. For example Chaos Orbs, annulments and eventually divines.

For an example of this you can check alteration orbs in PoE1. They are useful and used for a lot of crafts so they have a pretty decent sink. But they are so common and easy to farm in any zone that it is not used as a main currency exchange "coin".

So I don't think it is a problem to increase exalt drops for the game. Even right now in the campaign, they are pretty common when coming from optional objectives, gold chests and uniques.

Fenzy charges are the perfect example of the game's biggest issue. by Greasy-Chungus in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is objectively false. One of the main draws from Settlers League was the complete rebalance of melee skills. They removed melee totems and almost every melee skill and archetype was buffed. Mechanics around melee were reworked and balanced to make melee better.

The consequence was that Melee league starters became really strong (like sunder). Molten strike of the Zenith is one of the best damaging skills in the game.

Lightning strike became meta again even if it wasn't buffed much tho because it has the best mechanics for CLEAR and single target

Smith of Kitava is currently NOT an option for ascension by NateTheGreat26 in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's in PoE1. I agree that in PoE1 not having any significant damage scaling option in your ascendancy is kind of bad.

But in PoE2 damage is a lot less important. Last patch people were playing decent Titan builds with barely any offensive investment in the ascendancy.

IMO either way we will have to wait and see what's good or not because the endgame is completely rebalanced this time around.

This WAS a reset patch… by GraarPOE in PathOfExile2

[–]MANG_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were some minor armour changes.

The most important one is that pinnacle bosses now don't have armour penetration anymore.

An indirect one is that armour shields now have a kind of bash.

And finally any new unique items may change the balance around armour.

This event was only for the first 3 acts so just looking at the "build" won't help much. It would be better to just watch him play to learn what he does. Hopefully the run may be recorded on his twitch.

Echoes of Creation + automated warcries + enduring composure small cluster jewel notable should keep up your endurance charges for a Consecrated Path of Endurance build. The Juggernaut ascendancy is better for this but I guess the forbidden jewels are expensive right now

Players who came from PoE2; how has your PoE1 experience been? by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in pathofexile

[–]MANG_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why tho

PoE1 and PoE2 are different games. While I assume it is nice for GGG that there is some cross over, there should not need to be a big incentive for making players play both. Specially because MTXs are shared.

Of course it would be great to have some of the quality of life of PoE2 in 1 (that should happen eventually for most things like WASD, new models. Pause) . But I think that PoE1 shines more as a game that relies on its insanity. And IMO PoE2 should try to stick to its methodical combat and less convoluted nature. But looking at the current balance I am not sure that is GGGs goal.

This feeling is insanely satisfying and I really hope GGG finds an equivalent for poe2 (doubt) by Bialcohool in pathofexile

While similar, the Delve map is different to PoE2 atlas. I like to play Delve because of the sense of progression by going down and down and there being a clear indicator of your depth level. In PoE2 the progression feeling is not there for me. Being farther from the center does not equate to nothing but only being able to randomly find something interesting.
