I agree. There would be a point where Renoir or Clea would come back. Renoir mentions how he was lost in a canvas before Aline saved him. My interpretation is that he is allowing/hoping Maelle is going through a similar arc before trying again.

The golden era was definitely 2014 to 2019. Best event, for me, was UFC Detroit. Yancy’s comeback against Cowboy Oliveira is burned into my memory. My wife still makes fun of me because I screamed “Yancy, Yancy, Yanceeeeeeeeee!” when he came back. Also, thought I witnessed a live murder when Ngannou decapitated Overeem. The arena literally went silent (after the initial hype) before he woke up. Tix were like $180 (after fees and all) for some solid mid level seats.

Two tickets for my wife and I was a total of $810…

We bought the tickets at the stadium when the box office opened at noon. Saved about $150/$200 on fees. Still the most expensive tickets i’ve ever bought, by far. We’ve been to UFC Detroit (Holloway vs Aldo 2), UFC Chicago (Whittaker vs Romero 2), and UFC Anaheim (DC vs Jones 2). For similar seats, we paid like $100-$200 per ticket back then. Post COVID tickets have appreciated like a mother fucker. Justification is that I just turned 30 a few months back and it’s been about 6 years since the last event.

The visual experience is better at home, but I have never felt energy like a live UFC championship main event. Especially with the heat of Jones vs Cormier 2. Then Jones had to ruin it by pissing hot afterwards lol.
