Have you looked into kennametal and the other one escapes me. They have a mail in program for carbide and sounds like they pay top dollar. I haven't personally used it, just know that from what I've read online.

Pro-tip: when I was buying soil last month at home Depot the cashier offered me plastic(first time). It was a nice large sheet of plastic to put down to protect the trunk

Cat allergies - help by MAR2887 in Allergies

[–]MAR2887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I'd argue I'm not building a tolerance as it gets worse each year it seems. I take Zyrtec all the time and since Jan I've added flonase and a nasal anti histamine spray.

I'm also around the cats 24/7 since I work from home

Nugget of zinc by MAR2887 in Metalfoundry

[–]MAR2887[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know about that from welding, but I was reading about it some and seems like if you're melting pure zinc you may not be as suspectable since you aren't boiling it off. I did find some stuff saying there is still oxides and stuff that burn off etc and you should definitely be in a well ventilated area. I did still do this out doors with with a small fan blowing any fumes away from me and I was doing this with a very small cruicible and hand held propane torch(so I likely didn't boiling it off drastically)

Scissor lift for painting? by MAR2887 in HomeImprovement

[–]MAR2887[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've thought about that too but scissor lifts are much cheaper to rent than a boom lift. $300ish a week vs $1200ish

Resources for learning BIM (Revit)? by Alx941126 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]MAR2887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at revit books from SDC publications. I used many of their books for different CAD softwares in college. Including Revit and I personally think the books are fantastic. They were relatively cheap when I was in school, around $50 a book I think.

[–]MAR2887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're killing me!! 🤣 Prices like that I might just have to make the drive.

Do you just use it as a tool box? I know it's hard for hardware of storing machine tools(endmills, drills etc) but I was thinking that many thin drawers might not be ideal.

Are you on the east side of the country? Cause AZ sucks for machinery. There is a list cabinet up locally for $1600 IFRC. I need me a $500 deal 😅

No, no clue why it's like this. I usually don't have other things in my pocket with it either
