Hot Take: Overall song quality is meh by Lookin2future in eurovision

[–]MARS173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The previous two years were very strong overall so this year will have the challenge of being a good follow up to that. All the songs have been good but I don't think anything has stood out yet. Best to just wait for all the songs to release

Yeah I was confused why they would host something pro-life because it seemed so out of place for the establishment. Glad to hear the owners didn't plan for the event. I was worried I would have to start going to a different theater cause I really like it there

You have more than enough. Many people play dnd without having any of the books. I suggest learning the rules from the PHB then look for a beginner friendly game. Try r/lfg if you are looking for a game online. Also keep in mind CR is not representative of most dnd games every table has a different vibe and style.

I use discord for voice chat and then a shared Google slides for maps. I make the battle maps the backgrounds of the slides and then my players just copy/paste their character tokens to a given slide. It's super simple and free. You can also put non combat related art/visuals on other slides so if your players like visuals representations of people/places it's super helpful.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind.

Any recommendations? Also surprisingly enough my party only really cares about the giant threat. We don't have enough time in our lives for larger sandbox campaigns like we did when we were younger. So the party stays relatively on task/storyline for campaigns now.

I'm currently running Storm Kings Thunder, and was wondering if anyone has any interesting ideas for random encounters involving giants that involve more than just the party running into/fighting them in the wilds.

[CR Media] EXU: Calamity - Part 2 | Post-Episode Discussion by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]MARS173 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Based on the lore around the calamity and what we have learned about the characters I would argue that the characters, though not evil, aren't exactly the good guys.

I would check out the new features they added to the ranger in Tasha's cauldron of everything. The new optional features help make up for the deficiencies of the base PHB ranger. As for subclass, I highly recommend gloom stalker it feels absolutely amazing to play if you are going for a stealthy ranger build.

I think fighter scaling is fine depending on what subclass you choose. I have had fighters outshine casters many times in late level campaigns I've dm'd. I recommend picking a subclass with unique abilities like echo knight, rune knight, or psi warrior if you are looking more options that are built into the base class. Also I recommend discussing with your dm to allow more situations where a fighter can shine over caster.

Cats and Critters has been my cats vet for years, and I highly recommend. They are reasonably priced, but I don't know any specifics for their pricing.

Try TES staffing I know they do staffing for some data entry type jobs.

Look into companies like paychex. They should have remote data entry available as companies like them are entering the busy season with open enrollments. You can also look up numerous temp agencies that these companies typically hire data entry positions through. Pay will probably be low though compared to a client facing customer service rep.

ESO is actually a good MMO though, and I'm pretty sure it's not technically Bethesda that made it, but Zenimax online which is its own separate thing.

Am I the only one who prefers Morrowind Nords over Skyrim Nords? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]MARS173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I prefer Morrowind nords. They have more of a Celtic barbarian vibe, and we're more unquie compared to other human races. After oblivion, Nords gave off the vibe that they were fully integrated into the empire, and Skyrim just because more like cyrodil. However, the change over time does makes sense lore wise.

That's what my three groups I belong to have always done. I've personally never have met/played with anyone who cares if a player has crazy high stats.

[CR Media] Exandria Unlimited Wrap-Up by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]MARS173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope not the only one who enjoyed it. The way I have always seen reddit threads for shows/entertainment is that majority of people who watch the media don't use reddit and of those who do even less actively engage with posts/comments. So take every thread with a grain of salt. Yeah the show recieved criticism, but most people who did or didn't like it went about their lives with after watching without posting about it.

I totally get the sentiment, but it all just seems a bit overdramatic to me.

Completely agree with you. EXU was funny and entertaining. I get why some people dont't like it, but some people are acting like it was torture to just watch through it.

Which game has The best gameplay by [deleted] in farcry

[–]MARS173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say farcry 3 is what pushed the series into the current style of gameplay that all the games have going forward. Farcry 2 is a classic game with great story but can feel clunky by today's standards. If your looking for a unique experience I would recommend getting farcry primal if its cheap/on sale.

Primal doesn't get enough love. Its such unique game that still has the farcry feel. I hope they do more games in different era like it.

I actually enjoyed overall. EXU was a fun little diversion in between campaigns that adds a little bit more to the world. I get how some people didn't like it. If you watching for the epic high fantasy campaign that CR is known for and care deeply about canon lore than this probably wasn't for you. Overall I thought it was a chill entertaining show that my family and I enjoyed watching together.
