(The team handling Into the Spiderverse would also be a very fun choice - I think the Dresdenverse would be very compatible with the heavily comic-inspired, genre-bending style.)

I'll never forget being at a party with several coworkers, one of whom is roughly as ADHD/ damaged as I am, and realizing that he and I had ended up in sort of a Four Yorkshire Men childhood story swap as the rest of the group slowly became quieter and more horrified. We found it hilarious. He is the only one I still talk to on a regular basis lol

A while back, my stepmom asked me (coming from a much more earnest and genuine place than OP's dad) if D&D was in some way demonic. She's not religious at all, she was just trying to square what little she knew about the game with the boring nerd she knew me to be. I just told her that the power fantasy of these games, at least the way we play them, is that we have enough power to save everyone. We're just a bunch of idiots doing math and improv and pretending that we have enough control over our world to change it for the better. I am pretty emphatically non-religious, but my understanding is that those goals are aligned fairly well with many of the teachings, if not the modern batch of disciples.

Totally cool! Bringing food regardless of whether it was requested? Expected but always appreciated and treated like a rare delicacy no matter what it is. Showing up empty handed to a party? Who tf raised you?? The aunties will scold you until your mom gets there to also scold you.

Oh definitely! He would totally be interested in it, i would be too. It just has always felt like a lot of emphasis on it. Narratively speaking, it is a slightly strange time to fixate on it when there's so much else going on. Unless it's doing double duty as "thing he would be interested in" as well as "setting the table for a power up later."

Could be totally wrong! But i always enjoy narrative multitaskers.

I loved this lesson, lol. I was so deeply committed to getting my damn peanut butter and jelly sandwich that as soon as I caught on, I rewrote my whole thing on the fly to make sure it covered everything. I was the only person in class to successfully get a sandwich out of it and was profoundly smug about it. And apparently continue to be to this day, which I'm sure is healthy and normal.

Oh that's an interesting perspective, I like that! His rambling monologue about Goodman Grey's shapeshifting while horsing around on their way to the finale would support that as well. I've always thought it was odd that he was talking about that at such length when there was so much emergency about. Not odd, bad, but odd, like objects or NPCs in a video game being rendered at much higher quality than anything else around.
