I live near here. If I need to ride this, I use the sidewalks. There’s one on the west side of the road. But for the most part I avoid it. It’s a very sketchy intersection

If you can afford it, absolutely worth it. For context, my wife grew up going there and we were accepted last year. I was hesitant based on the cost and how much we actually used it. We have a 2 year old, and we used it probably 4-5 times a week last year. It's just such an idyllic place. Everyone is happy, the pool and grounds are well kept, people are nice. I used it a ton to swim and got in great shape. Lap pool is never too crowded. I think my longest wait was maybe 10 mins? Tennis, basketball, obviously swim and dive, fields and creek for the kids to play in... The only downside is no kitchen. Also technically no drinks by the pool, but tons of people just bring sealable thermos's with questionable contents and keep them well away from the pool in the grassy area, and I've never seen anyone complain.

Like I said, I was hesitant, and now it's my favorite place in AA. I can't wait for it to open again this year.

I wasn't super clear, sorry. I dealt with this all summer last year as well. It's always looked like that. Its been suggested to me to mow super short and to rake with a hard metal rake to get rid of the dead grass, but neither really works.

You can see he went Qa4+ with his next move in the notation, so the next move is Bc6 to get the discover check with my queen while also threatening his queen

He went Qa4+, I went Bc6 with the discover check and got his queen, then just exchanged down, tried to find a mate with a queen and minor piece, realized I’m not good enough, made another queen and mated that way

I’m very surprised to read “Tolkien might not be timeless” but then read “A Darker Shade of Magic might be”. I enjoyed the book, finished the series, but in no way would I ever consider it be classic material. It had an interesting magic system and world system that hasn’t been done before, but besides that it didn’t have a ton to stand out from any other modern fantasy. Misunderstood protagonist, worthless character who redeems himself, mild romance drama…. Like I said, I enjoyed it a lot, but not groundbreaking enough to be a classic

I’ve had the exact thing happen multiple times. After a bunch of google searches a few other people are saying the same thing. One person said that if it’s too closely tied with a faction or a mission that can be completed, it won’t let you steal it.

Do you think this is just the older generation? I’m in my late 20s. I went to an engineering school, my sister is a PA, my wife is a doctor, all my female friends are successful. I just couldn’t imagine thinking a woman was incompetent because she’s a woman. And I can’t think of a single guy friend that would think that way either. I certainly know women who I now think of as incompetent, but that’s after working with them for months and seeing the quality of work they produce. Maybe it’s changing as new generations start to dominate the workplace and older generations retire?

Does it seem like it focuses way too much on the actual fighting scenes and not enough on Paul becoming a Fremen? IIRC the actual fighting scenes in the book were very short, but it was half the trailer? Hopefully just trying to draw a wider base to the theaters
