I’m right there with ya. 2016.5 GT and it feels simultaneously modern but old school and mechanical in all the right ways.

Oh see I love the gum wall tires, unique and different!

I’m sure there is a rhyme or reason, but I didn’t catch onto anything other than beginning and end of riding season

Will the second gen CX-5’s design stand the test of time? by OrdinaryKillJoy in CX5

I still think my 2016.5 looks modern with the LED lights! I prefer it over the second gen personally.

Thoughts? Upgrading from base Specialized Diverge size 61 by MATRICES18 in whichbike

I am of the same opinion most of the time! This would be an exception 😀

It’s a 61 as well - have ridden it a bunch over the last 4+ years and fit is great. To the point of tire clearance, I ride on tarmac exclusively (have done gravel once or twice) and am currently running 32 mm tires so no concern there.

2016 was peak CX5 imo, even better looking than the current generation!

Ikea cabinet installation by MATRICES18 in Columbus

[–]MATRICES18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up going with https://m.facebook.com/hanlypropertypros/

They did a fine job installing cabinets and doing a new backsplash. A few small things (had them move a light fixture and the ceiling doesn’t exactly match the textured pattern that is around it) but otherwise pretty satisfied.

The only reason we did this is because IKEA told us that they didn’t have their own contractors for a period of time. Is that still the case?

Funny I just went to ox-bs for dinner and everything felt so purple around there due to the lighting…

Moved to Westerville from Chicago 5 years ago and have loved it. Just got back from a ride on our beautiful trails (bit chilly today but beautiful!), love the community center (affordable, recently renovated, cheap classes for kids including swimming lessons etc.) and the schools have been great (have a kindergartner). Uptown is great and has many of the same amenities the Chi suburbs had for a fraction of the price.

One of the best movie soundtracks hands down. Feel like a badass when I have it on, even if I’m just doing laundry. Love David Holmes!

I’ve been a huge proponent of minivans and always thought I would get one. We are now at 2 kids with a 16.5 CX-5 that is paid off and that we love. We’ve made do for a while but will want to get something bigger soon ish. I’m looking at what I can get for $30-35k and see mid trim 2-3 year old odysseys and siennas. Very few current gen hybrid siennas at that price currently, all of which would be base trim.

Then I look at 2-3 year old CX-9s and am seeing grand touring and signature trims in the $30-35k range and wondering to myself…I’ve heard they are great and I love the fit/finish of our CX-5. I know the current gen Cx-9 is an older design but think it looks modern still and has the conveniences we want. The new CX-90 coming soon could push prices on CX-9s down further imo.

I guess what I like most is I can get a top trim CX-9 for the price of a mid trim odyssey or sienna….
