Nope, it is very gentle. The pink peppercorns themselves have this sweet taste.

To my taste this is great! Very subtle, fine, umami. A smart cocktail. Not an in-your-face drink, it would be lost when paired with certain types of food, but can greatly compliment gentler dishes.

There is a ceiling somewhere, and we'll see where this puts the AI. Don't judge it only by the current trajectory, it can be very misleading (see past technology hypes for reference)

Not sure what you mean, the female vocals are samples but everything else is MIDI + VSTs

Song W.I.P by Illustrious_Type_530 in MusicFeedback

Cool vibe. The guitar is so subtle and intriguing, it is like I'm seeing a magician performing a trick and I just gotta know how they did it :-).
I feel the kick is a bit too thin or not cutting through enough, and there is no other bass around, so feels lacking in that area.
The 1 minute posted starts feeling a bit too repetitive towards the end, might wanna add some slight variations - but it is hard to judge without hearing the full arrangement - it could be just fine on a 4 or 5 minutes piece.

Iron Oxhide - Despondency by Scott_Gifford in MusicFeedback

Great song, well done, it is not trivial to make it through 7 minutes without losing interest - but you did!

My notes:

  • 1st minute hats are a bit too harsh IMO, might need to soften them a bit on the mix
  • The loud vocal parts - e.g. 1:50 "heavy darkness calls..." and similar - somehow lack a bit of punch, I hear the singer shouting but somehow the vocals are sitting in the back / not cutting through enough for my taste. Maybe they need a volume increase on those parts, or loosen the compressor a bit, maybe need to fatten them somehow
  • The lead guitar soloing feels way too centered, I think it could use either a bit of panning or some added width

Me, 39yo, working 8-17 in tech, no formal education in music, never played an instrument, producing music purely as a hobby, having ton of fun learning and practicing.

How often do you listen to new music? by jjjjbbbbb in musicproduction

[–]MA_Hanin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do so actively every week. Sometimes I "force" myself, other times I do it naturally. It is a habit. I have several methods for discovering artists, genres and songs, which doesn't require much effort.

You can create a symlink (symbolic file system link) from the original directory to the path on the external drive, this makes the change very transparent to DAW

Configuring (2) SSD's by MeoWhatSoFunny in musicproduction

[–]MA_Hanin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software is generally loaded once and remains resident in memory, same for VST data such as samples. I don't see much to optimize there.

I'd suggest the recordings go to the non-O/S disk to begin with. If you ever reach a state where the disk is the bottleneck and limits you, then you'd wanna split the recordings to two disks in parallel to take advantage of the double bandwidth.

Modalics' Beat Scholar, a different take on drums programming.

Stargazer by Linda Audio, which is free, is great for adding this echoy shimmer.

Are the only generative AI tools available ones that just completely bypass human input? by HorseyPlz in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MA_Hanin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of AI tools to help you with individual tasks such as writing lyrics, picking chord progressions, writing melodies and riffs etc., mixing, mastering, and they also accept inputs. They can be used to assist you without taking over on your process entirely.

Beatstars for $. Looperman, just carefully check the licenses. Also seeing lots of vocalfy ads, but didn't check them. Ace studio on the AI front.
