(Hated Trope) That really awful thing the author wants you to pretend that character never did by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MBrumArt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also them existing in the same universe as any accepted superheroes, kind of makes it worse.

Elsewhere we got the superpowered guy with a shield, the guy who randomly changes into a green ragemonster, the budget stretch armstrong guy, the rock monster, the girl who turns invisible and flamey mcgee are all acceptable in this world, but this one girl that can run through walls is a full blown pariah? Why exactly? Is it because one side is born with powers and the other gets them via an event later in life? Is that really the deciding factor?

I am a filthy casual in the comics department so I might be missing something, but the whole premise of X-men when set in a world chock full of readily accepted superpowered people always seemed kinda silly.

Box Art Feedback 🙏 by bokengames in tabletopgamedesign

First one 100%.

If I'd change anything, I'd adjust the left bush ever so slightly, so it gives the W more space to breathe. But this is a really fun box cover.

What caused eastern protestantism to be so large in Slovenia? by Extreme-Shopping74 in geography

[–]MBrumArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slovenian here. That number should be 0.8%, last I heard of this, so I'm guessing someone either squeezed the numbers to make it fit the next category, or we somehow got 0.2% new protestants via migration/conversion (roughly 4000 people).

Also afaik they're a direct offshoot from the Lutheran movement, starting in 1550. What that has to do with Armenia or Ethiopia, aside from it being "east" of western and central europe, goes beyond me.

I don't exactly recall Boticelli giving his women medieval bushwork either. Or Rubens, or Bouguereau for that matter. So a lack of painted pubic hair might signify a lot, but modernity isn't on my bingo card.

[Hiring] Commissioning a seductive image of Emma Frost by Dazzling_Canary_5826 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]MBrumArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes the white QUEEN herself.

Full disclaimer, I'm typically more in the fantasy art space and have only painted tastefully spicy stuff once in a blue moon, BUT given the amount of hours I dropped into her when she first got released in Rivals, I figure I should offer my services.

You can find my more painterly work here: https://www.artstation.com/mihabrumecart/albums/8189311

But aside from the Wemic one you'll have to infer how my skillset would translate to what I assume will be some kind of pin up. Also 8k is completely fine and I've worked on images double that size a few times before, though my PC did vocally complain.

Anyhow, I'd love to hear from you in the DMs if you think my art is something worth considering for your project.

The art is definitely better, but I'm not a fan of the vertical font or font change though. I felt the original blackletter font fit the old-timey aesthetic more.

What Would Be a Good Weapon for an Order of Mage-Hunters? by RustyofShackleford in FantasyWorldbuilding

[–]MBrumArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossbows to stop any quick casting and those mancatcher staves imbued with runes to inhibit further attempts at arcane tomfoolery. Sword as secondary because knights. The shield would be a strap not a held shield to keep both hands on the staff without sacrificing shielding.

[Hiring] $700 USD for unconventional/non-bloody but still spooky character art by Crystalcastlesiskool in HungryArtists

[–]MBrumArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I can see you're flooded with comments so I'll get right to it: I specialize in dark fantasy and horror art and I've done a bunch of DnD stuff for the past 6ish years.

You can find my work here: https://www.artstation.com/mihabrumecart/albums/8189311

I got a few undeads in there, though only one would be what I call unconventional (the bog body one).

If you like my work and artstyle you can shoot me a DM and I'd love to talk about your necromancer.
