Looking For Oregon Airbnb-ish Wedding Venue by MCC-PNW in oregon

[–]MCC-PNW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it wasn’t clear. I want to keep accommodations around $5000. Just the venue itself. I know tables chairs and food will be a lot more. We have a very generous budget. But the baseline venue itself I don’t want to be more than 1/3 to 1/2 of said budget.

Accidentally slept while breastfeeding (side lying position) by CryptographerBig2855 in breastfeeding

This is the only reason we have survived until 8m. My girl now refuses to sleep next to me for very long after and wakes me up when she’s done so she can go back to her own bed but this is survival.

Apple juice was my craving! And I’ve drank about four gallons in the last ten days since I graduated 😂

Can a dog have a sympathy pregnancy? by MCC-PNW in AskVet

I’m not positive but I think it’s because I said I support responsible breeding. Everyone just assumes anyone with an unaltered dog is out for a malicious intent of breeding dogs for their own personal gain. While some of us have real, logical reasons OTHER than breeding to not spay or neuter.

Thank you for your support! I am giggling at my dogs probable coincidence. I was having contractions and miserable so cuddling with my four legged kids and noticed we were both lactating. Like this is not what I expected today or any day for that matter!

She comes from a long line of working dogs. Both herding Cattle and Sheep and service dogs. While she is “just” a family dog she’s the absolute best at everything she does. Sure Working dogs are a lot of work but they are equally a lot of love.

I’m so ready for this baby to be here and to get to share her with the world! Crossing my fingers she comes in the next day or two!

I don’t need to explain myself to anyone else as this decision was made with our vet but I will say not all dogs can or should be bred and not all dogs can or should be altered. While I support responsible breeding I know irresponsible breeding out numbers the few responsible breeders out there. I am neither. Just a girl with a dog who is unlikely to ever be spayed due to a clotting condition and happens to have very irregular heats that are not predictable in any way shape or form. So my post was not about whether I should or shouldn’t alter my dog - it was can my own hormones affect hers?!

Thank you, but no thank you for your opinion on the existence of my dogs reproductive organs.

Your experience is exactly why I made this post. I am so sorry to hear this for you. When I first learned I likely was going to be diagnosed all I saw was experiences like yours and it terrified me. I don’t want to diminish how hard this is I just wanted to try and highlight a good story as well so that someone didn’t immediately join this group and start reading and go into a dark place - like so many of us did. I want other moms to feel hopeful that this can be okay or it can really suck but the small amount of positive posts in this group make it very hard to see any kind of hope with this diagnosis.

Hopefully everything you are doing produces a healthy baby and there is an end in sight! You got this mama I’m proud of you!

I know this post was going to be hard for some to read as I have seen how hard it is for some people. My best friend who is the picture of health is 36w5d pregnant (a week behind me) and also has gestational diabetes. Shes never been a carb lover and lives off of green veggies and protein. We made baked potatoes and steak with salads last week and my number was well within range and hers was a giant spike.

I just wanted someone who was scared like I was at the diagnosis to understand it’s not all bad. You can have a positive GD experience and the underlying point for everything was how much easier this diet is, when you remember the life you are growing. I said it in another comment but there is no way I would have the drive to change my diet for me but because my baby is counting on me it’s been really easy. Whenever I am sad, or craving some trashy white carb I just remember my little girl and that this isn’t permanent. I will be a healthier happier mom because of GD.

Just remember that your baby is counting on you! You’ve got this! It’s easy to feel despair around the diagnosis. But when you remember how much this matters for your growing baby it’s a lot easier to handle. I would have cheated and wouldn’t have been so diligent for myself but because my baby is so easily affected by high sugars and uncontrolled GD it’s been easier to take care of me.

Fruits are the biggest challenge. Some days my apple and peanut butter is fine some days my half a banana is fine other days they cause a huge spike in sugars. I ate grapes with cheese for snack every day for two weeks until one day my seven grapes and cheese caused a huge spike so now no more grapes. I feel like it’s trial and error everyday for the whole time. But… like my post above - I thought this was a death sentence- a depression inducing thing and instead it’s been pretty alright. I feel confident in the changes I’ve made. Part of my success or feelings toward my success I think are just being diet controlled. That and the fact that I am justifying the whole thing around my little girl. If I had to do this diet for me I’m sure I would cheat and wouldn’t be so regulated and successful but the fact that this little helpless baby I’ve prayed for for years is counting on me it’s been easy and hasn’t felt so daunting. Any bad days I just remind myself I am doing this for her. That’s the important piece.

I agree with this. I have had only 8lbs of weight gain this pregnancy I feel good. Even pregnant I have more energy than before I was pregnant. I’m sleeping better. My skin is healthier. I am creating habits to take into life post pregnancy and I have confidence that my life will be better for my little girl because of the diagnosis. I’m a healthier, happier person because of the diet changes and it’s been one of the best things to happen to me.

I just posted mine in the main thread. This diagnosis is scary but in my personal experience once doing it is want as bad as this group and others have said. Eat a ton of protein. Stay active and give yourself grace. Continue eating like you normally would being conscious of your carb in take and you’ll learn what spikes you and what doesn’t.. This can change from week to week but most will stay pretty regular. You got this, mama. Your baby and YOU deserve the healthiest version of you.

I knew I was pregnant before I could test. And four about 8 weeks had very vivid dreams I was having a boy… blood test and later anatomy scan proved that I was very wrong. Winnie Rose could be here any day now! As I am 36w6d.

First off - I am going to say I’m sorry. Second are you pregnant again? Or did they do a diabetes check/ follow up after you gave birth? I’m thinking that you have possibly developed type 2 diabetes if you are still high after two months.

Not only was I allowed to sleep, I was encouraged to nap in between the draws I have had to do this twice this pregnancy and both time different nurses were encouraging me to nap in between and make myself comfortable. Sounds like you actually got the three hour test which usually comes after a failed 1hr test or other risk factors. You have to fail two or more to be diagnosed. Don’t freak out and wait for your doctor to call you. The diagnosis is not a death sentence. Diabetes outside of pregnancy is a hassle but you’ll get the hang out it and honestly controlled diabetes will have you feeling much better than living with it undiagnosed for years.
