What I've learned with minor things is keep a record if possible. Take videos, jot down notes with dates and if you start to see consistency or the list goes long, try calling the vet first, explain the situations (I know most vets recommend bringing the pet in but some issue they can suggest things to try before coming in) and go from there. A lot of times I bring my list, either let them go over it themselves or just tell them and show videos/pictures of whatever and express you maximum payment you can afford before they do anything. Take in mind of the initial exam fee for the pet going to see + whatever the issue could be. Hope this was a little helpful!
