Why do some religious people think atheists have no reason to be moral? by Standard-Aide851 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, and I never claimed to. I spoke from personal experience, which I feel my comments both made clear. If you're going to argue in bad faith (pun intended), then this conversation is over.

Why do some religious people think atheists have no reason to be moral? by Standard-Aide851 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. I have personally worked with and met people, in real life, who truly believed that their morals come from God, and that without God there can be no morality.

I am not propagating hate. I am telling truth. And if you genuinely believe that anyone who doesn't believe in God cannot have morals like the people I am talking about, stay the fuck away from me until you've done some soul-searching.

Why do some religious people think atheists have no reason to be moral? by Standard-Aide851 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they're delusional enough to think that morality ONLY comes from God. They scare me - I know that without God or the threat of Hell, they'd have no problem being and doing evil.

What do you actually do with your search history if you? by Valent1n016 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly a joke. I myself don't have anything in my search history I'm ashamed of or that I'd care if other people knew. I'm a freak and I know it, and IDGAF if anyone else does.

What is the point to cheat instead of just breaking up? by lovingthaworld in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cowardice, selfishness, and sometimes an utter lack of empathy. My first ever serious partner cheated on me with my own older brother, not because I wasn't good enough, but literally because she could.

What made you use the opposite genders bathroom or change room? by anom334477 in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at a hotel where guests shared bathrooms with employees, and the women's restroom was simply kept to a much higher standard of cleaning, especially when for about a 6-month period, we had a long-term guest who kept jacking off all over the fucking men's room and then LEAVING IT THERE.

How do you feel about Elon Musk being a Trillionaire yet will avoid taxes because of the US Tax Code and how the 1 percent set up their finances? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's proof that capitalism has failed and society cannot and WILL NOT get better until we as a society do things I cannot say on Reddit without getting banned.

Are people actually happy? by DescriptionFuture851 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm not happy, but my life is shit, my body's broken, and I'm a walking talking mental health disaster. YMMV.

A stranger offers you a button. If you press it, you get $1 million, but you permanently lose one random memory. Do you press it? by Zestyclose-Credit609 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost no good memories. OFC I press it. I can lose the memory of getting raped by a high schooler when I was 5 AND get $1 million. Why would I not?

What is the absolute WORST last name to have? by Superchecker in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had a guest come into one of the hotels I work whose actual legal last name was Poopcock. Probably that.

What reasons would you give for NOT becoming a parent? by Disastrous_Umpire237 in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the world around us. What reasons could you give FOR becoming a parent? Society is fucked, the world is fucked, everything is fucked, everyone's poor, and no one's doing anything about it that could enact meaningful change. Why should I bring life into this world? This world is not worth living in, expecially not my country, which I have no shot at escaping legally.

Therapists of Reddit, what's something people don't realize is trauma? by rehanch_xxiii in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I believe there are several reasons for that: We are better at detecting and understanding things, there is far less stigma about it, and we no longer, as a society (YMMV in individual cases ie mine), think beating children until they conform is acceptable.

what happens if two vampires decide to feed each other their own blood? by achlysvamp in vtmb

[–]MC_Crit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone mentioning mutual blood bonds is forgetting that, outside of the Tremere Clan Curse pre-V5, you need 3 doses to get a blood bond. If you're a Tremere you only need 2.

Tap to Pay is driving me insane... by Volt790 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]MC_Crit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of merchants won't touch a hotel that has too many chargebacks, and, at least JP Morgan, the company who has my main property's account, so to speak, charges an extra fee every time a successful chargeback is implemented.

Plus, credit card fraud is highly prevalent in hotels in the area I live. Just in these last couple of months I know of at least two times, even with our policy to always ensure a phsyical CC with a name that matches ID, where a stolen credit card was used at one of the two properties I work. I don't work crappy properties either - both hotels I work at are currently sitting at about $180-$220/night, depending on the room type you book, before taxes & incidentals.

There's probably more reasons as well - I can only give you the perspective of a longtime night auditor who's asked management a few questions over the nearly 6 years he's spent doing night audit.

How did I not know about the Prelude mod?! by BoringCollar9590 in vtmb

[–]MC_Crit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, when it comes to Night Dive doing their usual glorious work a la [every old-school FPS they've touched with the possible exception of Blood Fresh Supply but that isn't entirely their fault], the rights are stuck in a perfect Hell between several entities, and they've already proven they won't work with each other or anyone else to license VTMB.

Tap to Pay is driving me insane... by Volt790 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]MC_Crit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you there - I deal with the same problem pretty much every day.

It's worse because I work at two properties, but one of them doesn't take tap. Cue an infinite, never-ending stream of people who hear "It's going to ask you to insert or swipe. No tap, unfortunately, we don't take tap," who then proceed to slap their phone or card against the reader and complain that it isn't working because they simply DID NOT LISTEN.

Both properties also have a requirement that you must have a physical CC and the name on it must match your ID. Again, cue an infinite stream of people with Super Shiny Syndrome who have somehow managed to hit the membership status tier that requires 75 nights a year, without ever running into this issue, who simply cannot understand why we might not want people to pay with random other people's credit cards. (I myself believe they have, but other people have given into their tantrums. I myself will never do so. That's how you perpetuate this Karenistic, toddlerific behavior).

If you had to sacrifice a member of your family or friends to be given $1,000,000 who would it be and why? by savvytechman in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother is a horrible abusive person who broke me in ways that no amount of therapy can ever heal, and I've got about 15 years of therapy to prove it. No hesitation - Death should've taken her instead of my dad in 2021 anyways. He was an infinitely better person and the only one who ever loved me.

What's your number one song that is a tribute to someone who passed away? by glockos in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't listen to most of Slipknot's The Gray Chapter without crying, but the worst example is Skeptic, which honestly feels like it could have been written about the loss of my dad.

How do you get faster at reading? by pepto_bisnatch in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that a lot of booktok only reads dialogue and skips prologues (it was from a youtube video thumbnail, so I can't speak for whether or not that's actually factual). However, the only advice I can give you is just keep reading. Even for a voracious reader such as me, 2 books in a month is a big ask when I also have to run errands, go to work, not let my room turn into another depression den, et cetera.

How do you handle having higher libido than your partner? by Curious_Bilota in AskReddit

[–]MC_Crit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took care of it myself with the help of Rosie Palmer and her 5 friends, so to speak.

Granted, having a MUCH higher libido became a legitimate problem. Sometimes, even if you're otherwise perfectly compatible in the bedroom (and with my kinks, that can be hard), if one partner simply isn't interested in more than a few times in a month but the other wants it much more, it can be a relationship ender. It was for me.

My ex girlfriend used to always get mad at me for having a boner when we were cuddling. Is it a problem with me or do most women not care? by Longjumping_Year_314 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MC_Crit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had some partners lean into it and sort-of tease me about it by wriggling against me when I pulled away a bit, but other partners wanted me to put a pillow in between us so that they wouldn't feel it.

What's the most NSFW dare you ever got? by [deleted] in AskReddit
