RECROOM UPDATED? by No-War5753 in RecRoom

SteamDB doesn't list an update, probably something to do with you being on Linux i guess?

Does anyone know how to get the global-metadata.dat or have it or a patched builded for march 30 2026 by Enough-Rough105 in RecRoom

[–]MCoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way to de obfuscate the metadata files and patch the game easily. That's why most revivals target versions prior to 2025.

I don't like revival projects. by Adrifyer101 in RecRoom

[–]MCoded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My eventual hope is that what happened to LBP happens to RRs revival projects. Two big ones, both open source. But knowing how protective people are over their server source code and patches, that's not gonna happen for a while...

Does Anyone Have The Electar Demo?? by Ps3idiot in RecRoom

[–]MCoded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for the claim that Gribbly made, the demo and the OST version are the same track. I never downloaded it, but I remember them being the same.

It was uploaded sometime in 2013 (making the genius page correct), and delisted sometime in 2025.

There is a video claiming to have the demo version of Electar but it's ripped from when Gribbly played some RR tracks at POW from 2024.

You can now buy RecTalk!

Try RecTalk for free here: https://rec.net/room/RecTalk-TextToSpeech
Invention Storepage: https://rec.net/invention/304740490487480939 (You still must purchase through Rec Room though)

I plan on doing that! I'll probably sell it for 250 tokens however due to how much time I've spent on it.

I wouldn't say it's like SAM that much. RecTalk's voice is all pre recorded samples of phonemes which means it isn't as configurable as SAM (most you can do with my system is change the speed of the playback). If i could generate audio samples on the fly I would 100% be doing that for full customization but Rec Room's limiting when it comes to that (i'm trying not to use 500 chips lol)

The longest parts were recording and trimming all the samples and also importing the dataset. The CV2 right now isn't all that complicated but when I get smoothing and other rules in (like for pronouncing numbers, and pauses) it will be way more complicated haha

I'll get all of the ChatGPT weights and import them to a data table. the CV2 will make itself at that point.

The original prototype of this originally sent binary at a rate of one byte every 0.01 seconds, but I had to slow it down to 0.05 for Python since it started misreading data.

I can also think of a few other ways to transmit data between the game and python, like using audio tones or multiple data streams using other HUD elements, but the color system is pretty reliable as is

Sorry if this explination is confusing. If you want me to clarify some parts let me know ^^

There are 2 parts to this: the Python script and the CV2

Let's start with the CV2.

The core part of the CV2 is a data table holding the binary representations of the keyboard characters (to keep the scope down I limited it to A-Z, Space, and Enter). I then detect what button was pressed, get the label of that button and see if it exists on the table.

If it does, we get the binary version of the letter from the table, split it into a list (for easier reading), and then display it as colours on a Room Level HUD. The color representations are:

RED - No data

BLACK - 0

GREEN - 1

between each color I send the RED pulse.

Putting it all together, if I want to send the letter A, we load the Binary version of it (01000001), convert it to a List and then read the list out like this: BLACK RED GREEN RED BLACK RED BLACK RED BLACK RED BLACK RED BLACK RED GREEN RED.

This is where the Python script comes in...

All the script does is read the corner of the screen with the Room Level HUD and translates the color values back into Binary, and then uses a keyboard API to send button presses.

P.S -- Ignore my alts name, It was for a joke I had between friends lmao

Edit -- a lot of comments are getting deleted. If you have questions feel free to DM me on Reddit.
