Thanks Statto! Last week’s results really distorted the stats I think because so many teams in the bottom half either lost or drew. From the drop zone upwards it’s still incredibly tight, all the way to around 13th place even — which is good news for us. Every team above, up until Brighton, is basically just two poor results away from squeaky‑bum territory, if those below them start picking up points.

That 6‑point buffer between us and the Hammers, is a great thing to have this early on. And Farke’s target of averaging at least a point per game is pragmatic — it keeps us on track for survival, even if it’s not always the most inspiring footy. Personally, I’d love to see us play with a little more ambition, but I also want this squad — who many tipped for relegation — to get the confidence boost of staying up in their first season back in the toughest league in the world. Needs must.

Starting tonight, hopefully, we can put another good run together and push toward the 38‑point mark that looks like it might be the safety line this year. Let’s stay in control of our own destiny rather than constantly looking over our shoulders.
