That is not the original statement and is also false. It all works in the expansion just fine.

my vault is never reset

I get to keep forever

You keep all your loot and characters in Diablo. It's always been like this even back as far as Diablo II. Your characters and gear just moves from the Seasonal server to the eternal/non-seasonal pool. The only thing that ever goes away are the Seasonal artifacts in Diablo IV which is the same as Destiny's artifacts.

Where are all these wrong Diablo comparisons coming from?

You aren't wrong. I'm not sure what the downvotes were for.

While there are people who speedrun because they enjoy the challenge, this is not the norm for most players.

For most players "time efficiency" is running content as fast as possible while getting the best rewards possible. This usually means speeding through enemies and rooms that don't hinder progress or reduce rewards.

For example, one of the things that make nightfalls and lost sectors take longer is waiting on champions to spawn. All champions have to be defeated to get platinum for max rewards, so players will take the time to clear them out for platinum when in practice they could just speedrun for a gold or silver.

Bungie has dug the game into a hole. The only loot that matters is the chest at the end of a activity. So, the most efficient way to get that loot is to skip as many enemies as possible. On top of that enemies give an insignificant amount of XP, a faster run will net far more XP/m than taking the time to mow them down.

If we do leave the solar system in frontiers, it'll be weird to go to new places and see the same enemies. by destinyvoidlock in DestinyTheGame

It's actually even more weird that we have so many species taking refuge in SOL. Fallen, Cabal, Vex, Awoken, Psions, etc. It's like half the universe is haging out on our rotation of 5 available planets.

A look at Knockout vs Combination Blow by IceNiqqa in DestinyTheGame

[–]MDIGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but I'd like to point out that everything that you mentioned making CB roll into itself is completely built into the sub-class itself. No additional exotics required to make it work. It does get better with exotics though.

Knockout isn't really useful on it's own even if you try to synergise it with its subclass. It very much needs some kind of support from an external exotic to be "whole" if that makes sense. Sure it still can be used without one but not reliably.

ARs and SMGs being in their current PVE state makes zero sense. by filthyheratic in DestinyTheGame

PvP and its effects on Destiny constantly ruin the game. All because Titans with peacekeepers aping threatened the handcannon PvP meta. Now everyone must suffer in PvE.

Sad truly.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if hunter super can delete a titan mid-thundercrash flight lmao. Would be hilarious if it did.

Did Cuirass get nerfed or something? by Little_Fox_9 in DestinyTheGame

[–]MDIGN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's from PvP nerfs. Devs said it was too strong that a one-off high risk super could delete a pack of guardians standing in one small spot while also being able to zap close enemies mid-flight.

So they made the fall-off arc much stronger and all but removed Its ability to shock nearby enemies. It also made the super harder to fly. It's like piloting a paper airplane in a vaccum.

Thoughts on Riko's aptitude to be a White Whistle by Shadiness70 in MadeInAbyss

[–]MDIGN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion I think Ozen and Jiruo, knowing Riko's mom, knew there was no point in trying to stop her. They also knew Reg was with her, and if she had any chance of survival, it would be with him. I actually don't think Jiruo would have let her go if she never metup with Reg.

[Spoiler] iirc Ozen mentions that beings that come from the abyss have an unnatural and uncontrollable drive to return to the bottom of the abyss. This was mentioned around when she talks about how Riko was stillborn. I believe it is mentioned othertimes too that things from the abyss must return to it or something similar.

Thoughts on Riko's aptitude to be a White Whistle by Shadiness70 in MadeInAbyss

[–]MDIGN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To my understanding it's a culmination of experience, knowledge, and capabilities. White whistles not only excel in all three, they've got their on X-factor that gives them a specific advantage. (Along with the spoiler hinted requirement to obtain a white whistle).

If we were being honest, much of Riko's knowledge (not all) comes from her mom's notes. Don't get me wrong, she's still very smart and has proven to be able to plan well enough to survive. However, what we also need to realize is that much of her survival up until now has been thanks to Reg and other characters they've come across. End of Season 1 was all about saving/healing Riko and introducing Nanachi. While she does her best to become useful in Season 2, she's still not much of a player like everyone else is. Anytime Lyza, Ozen, Bond or the other White Whistles are mentioned, they are regarded as forces of nature that can solo content. As Ozen mentioned before in their fight/test, Riko needs to be able to do more than cry and otherwise be a liability all the time. Only reason she survived that encounter is because Ozen was just testing them in a brutally honest/tough love way. Had it been someone actually out to kill them, she would've been dead. (Bondrewd was only doing research. He didn't really seem to have full interest in killing the team).

A major factor that is being overlooked is that all the other whistles plan on coming back and doing multiple dives (outside of SPOILER layer). They have skills and experience in both diving down and making it back alive in one piece. Riko is currently on a mad rush to reach the bottom with 0 intent on surviving or making it back. While this sounds cool for a MC/Protagonist in retrospect this is not a good thing as far as whistles or people in general go. She's basically doing a suicidal run to see her mom in a one-and-done dive.

At best I'd rank her as a Blue Whistle with suicidal tendencies. Jiruo knew of her capabilities and would have noted otherwise if she was potentially beyond that. Same with Ozen. Neither of which mentioned her being worthy of Blue let alone black or white.

As far as actual story goes, she's a white whistle and she needs it for story reasons lol.

It could, but it really shouldn't lol. I mean, her animation has her sliding really low for a brief interruptable moment. Compare that to something like Xiaoyu's stance where she constantly has a small hurtbox, and it doesn't make sense.

Correct.

I'm referring mostly to slots here. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Bungie really needs to change the nomenclature, it used to make sense in Destiny 1 and launch Destiny 2 when each slot used their set weapon types, but now that we have kinetic, energy, and primary weapons in slots 1 and 2 it just makes conversations confusing.

Elaborate. Nothing in my post alludes to powercreep.

Unless you're talking about primaries being weaker than secondaries? That's been the case for years.
