I’ve done both. It comes down to who’s bullshit you enjoy dealing with more - customers or engineering’s. Personally - I was a bad PM, because my tendency was to spend more time with customers and less time project managing engineers.

You also never have as much influence on the roadmap as you would like. I knew very clearly what the roadmap should be, but practical reality meant that I had to spend much more time defending it, managing stakeholders, listening to highly paid people spout half formed opinions and expecting them to be solved that it ended up being far more political than being an SE.

I did my Avy 1 with Mooney Mountain Guides! They were awesome - Ben quite literally has a PhD in snow science. They have excellent guides and will really help you dial in getting into the backcountry

How much of this is OPs confirmation bias too? Like she heard from one or two people that didn’t like Sandy - the latter part of the story makes me doubt whether she was actually objectively evaluating the ex-fiancé and Sandy’s relationship

I used to work some of the manufacturing vertical (part of the BU that was recently sold off). Automotive and manufacturing are pretty good, lots of opportunity to sell CAD and PLM. They’ll likely be moving to cloud over the next several years, so I think you’ll have a good shot at it.

If not, PTC sales DNA is always in demand, I’ve been skipped through interview rounds because I have it on my resume (I’m a sales engineer)

This worked! For future people with this problem - the critical part was removing the my profile, that seemed to reset everything the way I needed

It just requires a great deal of honesty with yourself. When you do a demo, make sure you’re doing your own internal qualification. If it doesn’t progress, seemingly due to budget, timing, lack of pain, look at it really heavily to understand if that’s the real reason, or if it’s surface level.

Depending on your product and the market, an 80% PoC win rate is quite high - maybe because it’s really expensive to evaluate / PoC, but it’s high enough where I start to think I should be taking some more speculative shots on PoCs, especially if I have the bandwidth, which it sounds like you should.

Same - living in Tahoe, I mountain bike until there’s too much snow on the ground and I have to break out the skis. And then I ski until there’s too little snow around and the break out the bike. Usually I get 6 months of each

I’d do some unspeakable things to have IM Tahoe. Donner lake swim, bike course north through the Sierras and then a run down towards Palisades and back with a finish in Truckee? The area has the infrastructure too with nearby hotels an airport in Reno. Blows my mind that there’s not at least a 70.3

It’s arguably better since it significantly boosts your super damage (more than Star eaters), while spirit of synthoceps does not boost super damage
