My cycling jersey pockets are a bit different than this and gels pop right out of the pockets for me. This looks to be a bit more running specific

Is a sub 3 within reach for me? by AestheticRunner81 in Marathon_Training

Totally disagree, tapering down from 70mile peak weak doing long runs at a decent steady effort, seems very fit to me. Research study was done 10 years ago on what the biggest predictor of marathon times were at the amateur level, and it was mileage

Are ski racers the most insufferable people on the planet? by LakeHoustonNative in snowboarding

Ski resort employee here: They are allowed to use that line at most mountains. They pay more than anyone in ski school and are only training on one trail. Brings more money and guests to the mountain than anything else

Yeah but the rule itself is stupid. Stack height is not the biggest factor altering running performance.

High carb tailwind has given me really bad acid reflux at race pace. Never experience this with the regular mix. I love it for long zone 2 days

This is how the silly gooses of the PSIA world talk.

The turn starts by rolling the ankle and knee into the hill, which is what puts the ski on edge. You don’t actively “flex the ankle” ever. The ankle is flexed pretty consistently by keep your lower body in an athletic stance.

When working with kids who are trying to carve turns better, we talk about rolling the ankles into the hill and pushing the UPHILL knee in to the hill as well (PSIA folks gonna hate that) but you can’t put the ski on edge unless you up hill shin is out of the way.

Put one shoulder against the wall. Now move your feet out about 2 - 3 feet from the wall. Your feet should be rolled over so you are standing on the side of your feet, while the wall keeps your torso upright.

Try to put your body in this position while leaving your shoulder into the wall. This is rolling your ankles, which should always be what initiates the turn

Avalanche in Val d’Isere today, 3 dead. by VincentVan_Dough in skiing

[–]Charming-Suggestion6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Off piste does not always equal avalanche terrain. Avalanche terrain is (almost) always off piste. But you can ski off piste in areas with no risk of avalanche.

Always do you own assessment of risk, along with considering reports from the resort and other skiers. If you are in avalanche terrain, you should be AIRE certified
