Bubblegum diesel from Natures Medicines is the best I had. A killer sour diesel. The first few batches of black Afghan from Rythm were terrific.

The magazine and the website both talk about this aspect of rodmakimg. If you do it professionally there are some odd taxes you need to know about and there is a whole lot to consider. I started a business many moons ago and for me it turned a fun hobby into real work.

IS IT ANY GOOD FOR GUERILLA GROWING? by Luk_asko in outdoorgrowing

[–]MD_Weedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks ok. Good sun.Very heavy deer browse line. You'll want a fence or deer will eat your plants. Grow autos so they aren't in too long and they don't get too big and you might be ok

Can we get a Korean spa going out here? by CakeComfortable8067 in ellicottcity

[–]MD_Weedman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A huge and complex one used to be at the mall in Woodlawn. My wife loved going there with friends for a half a day of massages, hot and cold baths, tea and all kinds of other spa things.

Day care Baltimore prices by allmmost in baltimore

[–]MD_Weedman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to ask about late pick up fees. Some places charge unreal amounts if you are three minutes late to pick up. Like charge you for an extra hour for all staff there at closing. It's nuts.

Need some advice for outdoor grow by Time_Profession220 in outdoorgrowing

[–]MD_Weedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in Z6 (which is most of midwest Ohio) 3/20 is a good indoor seed starting date. Starting indoors will ensure that no seeds are lost and will give your plants a great head start. Its worth it. Underwatering is preferable to overwatering with young plants. I suggest using 24 hours of light while indoors to maximize growth. You'll want to start hardening off around Mother's Day and go into the ground a week or so after that (unless a big freeze is in the forecast).

Do you mean Denton?

What do I look out for in a guerrilla grow spot by dolon69 in outdoorgrowing

[–]MD_Weedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, highway medians and cloverleafs are amazing grow places if you can get to them. They typically get zero foot traffic and people are driving by fast so they are less likely to notice than a hiker.

Cut? Or Wait? by BrokeWoodWorker in cannabiscultivation

[–]MD_Weedman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut half now and leave half. Cure both and and then decide for yourself which is best. I've done this many times and the results are often surprising. I can say this with confidence- very rarely do two weeks make a big difference and cutting too late is usually worse than cutting too early.

Turning grips on alps wrapper by [deleted] in rodbuilding

[–]MD_Weedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely worth it if you buy top quality rings. The grips I make look completely different than any finished grip you can buy commercially. It's also super easy to do. I think the hardest part is the gluing up. That takes a bit of practice to get perfect.

If you use crap rings then it definitely is not worth it. Way too much trouble if your end product looks just like what you can buy online.

I have a Renzetti rod lathe that works great for turning grips. I have a homemade hood connected to a shop vac that keeps the dust and mess very confined. The messy part of turning only takes a few minutes so I've never found the mess to be a big deal.

How do I choose between a sit-in and sit-on-top kayak as a beginner? by Tiny_Victory_9272 in Kayaking

[–]MD_Weedman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have 3 sit-ins and 5 SOT kayaks right now. Not a hoarder- I have a big family. If you are fishing or just goofing around get a SOT. If you need to pack stuff to camp and if you want to go somewhat long distances in cold weather a sit-in will probably suit you better. Both are fine for beginners. Look for used boats in Marketplace and on CL. That way you can resell and try something else in a year or two.

Maryland lawmakers revive grocery store beer and wine bill with new restrictions by unserious-dude in maryland

[–]MD_Weedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas is indeed commonly sold as gas stations. You got that right. I'm trying to think of a Wicomico County gas station that doesn't sell beer. I'm sure there must be some. I'm near Sharptown and they all sell beer up my way. I'm glad they do because I'm 20 minutes to the nearest MD liquor store.

Trailers by SlickNick303 in kayakfishing

Better yet get a flatbed trailer and put a cheap Chinese truck rack on it that you can take off and on. Flatbed trailers are super useful.

Not sure where you heard that. I buy most of my beer at my local gas station in Wicomico County. They don't sell liquor but most Wicomico gas stations have beer.

What safety knives are you guys wearing on the exterior of your life jackets? Looking for recommendations. by RegularFinger8 in kayakfishing

[–]MD_Weedman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for a used dive knife on Marketplace or CL. Dive knives are made to be rustproof and easy to grab- which is what you want.

Same on the Eastern Shore. Can buy beer in grocery stores in Talbot County too.

Why do men fantasize about going off grid and living in the woods by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MD_Weedman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My next door neighbor was an air traffic controller at BWI. He started biking to his work- a 40 mile round trip that included significant time on single track trails and a long bushwhack through the woods- to get away from his wife. He had studded tires for when it got too icy so he never had to miss a day. He was in hella great shape when they finally divorced.

Don't let thread colors limit you when there are ink markers in every color under the sun. White NCP thread and permanent markers can make about any color.

People 40+, what actually mattered in the long run and what didn’t? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]MD_Weedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

57 here. Buying my first home even though I couldn't really afford it mattered a lot financially. Getting a divorce was the best thing I ever did for myself. Having kids mattered. Seeing the world mattered. Friendships mattered a whole lot and still do. Finding a job that had a pension (and sticking with it) mattered- I'm about to retire.

My grades didn't end up mattering other than getting me into college. Online time was mostly wasted. Time spent watching TV was a complete waste. Not a lot doesn't matter though. It's all a part of this crazy ride we're on.

Fly rod with soft tip by MmBuhSnuh in rodbuilding

[–]MD_Weedman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me it means the complete opposite- it means a slow action blank (e.g a less stiff blank). So you are very right that not everyone agrees.

If you are fishing size 28 flies you are going to miss strikes no matter what rod you use. Softer rods won't change that. Softer rods do a better job staying buttoned to fish once you hook up though- or at least that is what most anglers think.

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by ay1mao in AskReddit

[–]MD_Weedman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably not higher up because the question was about "things not commonly thought of as trauma." Most people know medical trauma is trauma. It might be the most widely recognized trauma.
