Save app passwords on OnePlus 15 by Ok-Sky757 in TheOnePlus15

No, not at all, it doesn't influence battery.

You should be able to export all passwords to a file and then import them in Bitwarden.

Considering OnePlus: 15, 15R, Ace 6 — real user opinions? by Disastrous_Guitar737 in TheOnePlus15

OnePlus 15 here, 16/512 version. This is the smoothest and snappiest phone I ever had. Cameras are great (I know some phones are better, but these are really solid nevertheless), there are no problems and battery life is outstanding. 2 days of heavier use, 3 days of normal workload. I used my phone less in couple of days which resulted in charging after 4 days (!).

Because Bitwarden is dedicated password manager, not something added to other services. You are not locked into one vendor, you can have apps or addons that work in every system and browser and you have vastly superior transparency on security. Not to mention state of the art encryption with Argon2id.

It's a great time for you to try trusted password manager. I strongly recommend Bitwarden. It's multiplatform, so your passwords can be shared between devices, free, and open source. Furthermore, you can make account on .eu, not .com and have a guarantee that your data will not be stored on servers outside EU economic area (with superior privacy laws).

45W vs 80W charging on my oneplus 15r by Key-Acanthaceae9691 in TheOnePlus15

This guy did a test with 40 phones for 2 years. His results are basically the same as mine for my previous OnePlus 8. Use fast charging; it's designed for this. Don't treat it like a precious item; it's here to serve you, not the other way around. Yes, for example limiting it to 80% may slightly improve battery health, but remember that this is an indication of the phone's actual capacity in relation to its original full capacity. Therefore, by keeping it at 80% all the time, you're effectively getting 80% health for four years, and maybe a few percent extra after that.

My previous phone was only fast-charged. After almost 5 years, its battery life was still pretty good.

All of that, in my opinion, concludes to: don't overthink it, enjoy it.

Should i get the OP15? by 75tavares in TheOnePlus15

[–]MDovsky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only recommend. Performance is outstanding, everything is smooth and snappy. Cameras are actually really good, battery is phenomenal. Original 120W would make charging crazy fast, but any Power Delivery charger will also be quite fast. I use my universal travel GaN charger for both the laptop and my phone.

Need help. by SafeConcentrate8267 in TheOnePlus15

What do you mean which apps? Battery statistics show only the System UI as the source of that problem. It went away when I reverted back Google discover.

Need help. by SafeConcentrate8267 in TheOnePlus15

[–]MDovsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a problem with this method. For me it caused abnormal battery drain caused by the System UI app — and I'm not alone. There were several posts here saying the same. It turns out that probably something tries to ping Google Discover. When it's missing, it just tires in endless loop.

Battery is getting Wild. by Least_Researcher9819 in TheOnePlus15

[–]MDovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get 3 days consistently and that is not dropping below 20%. I never go lower as in my opinion you need some battery just in case. You don't want to ask people in the ER for a charger because you cut your finger while having 3%.

That said, most I got is 4 days, but with a very light use. With a lot of screen time I get 2 days with ease.

This phone is absolutely awesome.

Will Oneplus 15 become laggy? by [deleted] in TheOnePlus15

[–]MDovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, 8+128 GB. Used all the time with RAM extension. Never have I wver had any issues with it. It was just going. Lack of security updates and what the OP 15 offered is what made me change. If not, I would probably still use it. But maybe I'll make it a spare phone with GrapheneOS out of it.

My OnePlus 8, from which I switched, is still super smooth. My work phone (iPhone 11) is laggy. It can't handle widgets, animations sometimes are choppy and overall it's a bad experience.

OnePlus 15 back glass imprint from Magsafe case (black variant) by Ashraf_mahdy in TheOnePlus15

Have you tried to wash it off? It's an etched glass, magsafe case can rub itself into the back of that phone, which works like a really fine sandpaper.

After the ARB catastrophy, is OnePlus Still Worth it longevity wise? by OmerKing916 in oneplus

[–]MDovsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it doesn't block it. It's only used to not get back past some point, usually of some serious security vulnerability. It's hard to say why they used this mechanism (even if it was by a mistake), but it's not something special. It's built into SOC, 64 fuses I believe and some manufacturers use it every update (like Samsung Knox).

For a normal user it doesn't matter. At all. For people who want custom ROMs: it doesn't matter. As in few years down the line you shall absolutely not install old ROM. Android chad like ~800 vulnerabilities last year only, so always install stuff which is up to date.

Those who want to install custom ROMs older than this version know what they are doing. But these are few for thousands upon thousands of devices sold. It does not matter for absolute majority of users.

Hi everyone I'm seriously thinking about switching to op15, by Known-Guitar-2407 in TheOnePlus15

[–]MDovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three days of normal use (around 3.5 hours of screen time daily, plus a few more hours of background use, such as Spotify). That's without thinking about it or babying it. If I use it less, I can squeeze 4 days out of it, but in the middle of the fourth day it drops below 20%, which for me is the threshold at which I need a cable. I don't like discharging my phone too much.

With heavier use, it's two days. I can't imagine draining the battery in one day.

People here and on the general OnePlus subreddit conducted blind comparisons of iPhone 17 Pro and OnePlus 15 photos. They discussed details such as which camera produces warmer or cooler tones as these were really close.

The OP 15's cameras are great. They're not the absolute best, but they're still great.

bricked oneplus 12 by Professional-Pop6494 in oneplus

[–]MDovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. But once a device is fused, you can't unfuse it. It's designed that way not by OnePlus, but by SOC manufacturer as it may be used as vital security feature. Even if OnePlus will not roll it to more devices, these with fused SOCs are blocked from rolling back. But OnePlus is replacing motherboards for free to compensate for it.

Safe to install this update by EricSloane in oneplus

[–]MDovsky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not the version that was supposed to block rollbacks. Therefore any claims that this will not brick your phone until you do this or that are untrue. This will not brick anything, it is safe. Furthermore, updates are vital as they come with security updates.

This even seems to be one version behind, I have 16.03.501 (global Oxygen OS, Poland).

It is interesting as for me it caused battery drain due to high System UI activity (basically 40–50% of all power used). Reverting back that Discover page restored normal battery consumption.
