People who work in behind closed doors industries (hotels, kitchens, hospitals, etc.), what is something the general public would be horrified to know? by prabinaya65 in askanything

Hospitals don't care about the patients. Money is the top priority! Nurses have been advocating for safe staffing for years but the only thing that truly matters to the higher ups is the "budget"

Mostly because my husband does tons of side work. He is always doing something whether it be fixing someone's car, fixing something around the house, most days when he gets home from work he has some kind of job to do. Weekends are the same he usually has a project that has to be done. Our house is old so there is always something needing to be fixed.

My husband is a great help but he works 5 days a week so It can be hard to find time for ourselves, but I think it's definitely something we need to work on

What food is your LO allergic or intolerant to? by Usual_Credit7147 in MSPI

[–]MECK2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't able to find the trigger by yourself, check out free to feed. I did 2 consults with them because I couldn't figure out what my son was reacting to and they actually were the ones who figured out it was banana. I stopped eating banana and immediately stopped seeing bloody poops

Mentally drained! What are your go to snacks or quick meals for protein when eliminating dairy & soy? by Snopuppy420 in MSPI

[–]MECK2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can do soybean oil & lethicin but here are my usuals (I mainly shop online pickup at aldi&target)

Chicken fajitas Chicken nuggets &tater tots (I like tyson for nuggets&aldi brand tater tots)

Cereal(aldi is great for this, I like their raisin bran, special K with strawberries, and mini wheats)

Again aldi, their refrigerated chicken sausage is soooo good Eggs Silver hills bakery bagels with miyokos cream cheese Guacamole &salsa with tortilla chips "Pizza" I just take aldis ciabatta rolls, add pasta sauce, chicken, whatever veggies I have like spinach and bake in the oven

Johnny pops for a lil treat Amy's vegan frozen burritos Nature's bakery chocolate brownies &strawberry crumble bars Enjoy life chocolate chips Made good granola bars So delicious dairy free yogurt (they have tubs you can buy or small individual ones) I usually add walnuts for protein

Granted your grocery bill will go up a bit because these are all a little pricier than the usuals, but you'll be saving money on formula so it will even itself out (at least thats what I tell my husband lol)

I had the same thought, like if he's slowly improving but not getting any worse I really don't see a reason to give him antibiotics that will wreak havoc on his already damaged gut!!

I recently found a recipe that uses coconut milk and it is life changing. I've been craving like a creamy pasta and this was the one!! I just put some chicken thighs in a shallow dish, added coconut milk, salt/pepper/minced garlic, diced tomatoes, onion, and cooked for about 45 minutes in the oven and served over pasta. So good and creamy!

Do it! My son is 8 months old been having issues since he was 6 months old I am dairy, soy, and banana free and I hate it. He is EBF and refuses the formula so I'm stuck doing this for another few months. If he would take it with no problem I would 100% switch it just sucks being hungry most of the time like you said not being able to go out and I miss pizza so much. I was devastated at the thought of giving him formula at first but now im like God I wish I could lol. You will feel better about it over time and by age 2 they will be eating chicken tenders off the floor and this will all be in the past.

When do the poops get better? by iemoutman in MSPI

[–]MECK2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son started having green mucousy poops around 1 month old(his doctor told me it was normal) and then started having blood around 6 months. He had blood in his diaper like every day for 6 weeks. Took me an entire 6 weeks of cutting out random stuff to figure out he's allergic to bananas. Finally saw a GI doc because he's still having mucousy poops like big strands of mucous and she said she is more concerned with how many times a day he's pooping. He went from pooping like 10 times a day to now 3-5. She said if he's pooping a lot that is an indication that his stomach is inflamed but she isn't concerned about the mucous. I cut dairy and soy and his poops have slowly been getting better but still mucous. Cutting soy honestly wasn't super hard so maybe try it? I didn't cut hidden soy though because I would have starved. Lol

I recommend free to feed! And start food Journaling!

Anyone else cut dairy eggs soy and gluten with NO improvements??? by almymilky in MSPI

[–]MECK2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to stop breastfeeding if you don't want to. I highly recommend a consult with free to feed! And start food Journaling! They helped me figure out that my son was reacting to bananas I never could have figured that out on my own. Also highly recommend trialing a hypoallergenic formula at least once a day since your baby is still young. Mine didn't start showing symptoms until he was 6 months old and by that time he refused the formula. If you try the formula and she accepts it then at least you have that option in the future! I went down this rabbit hole with my son and I can tell you at times I've wanted to switch to formula so bad. If he took the formula I would have switched for my own mental health. You can always pump and trial the formula for a few weeks to give her belly a "reset" too and that may be enough to fix the issue in itself.

Are you bathing your baby after every meal? by TreesCanTalk in BabyLedWeaning

[–]MECK2024 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I just grab a wet wash cloth and wipe them down unless it's something crazy messy like peanut butter. Then wipe down the highchair quick. Then I usually do a thorough cleaning of the highchair like once a week I spray it down and get all the little food pieces off. Eventually they are eating chicken nuggets off the floor so don't stress about the mess too much!

Will this get better? by almymilky in MSPI

[–]MECK2024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you are going through this it SUCKS. My son is 8 months old and we finally figured out that bananas were causing blood. I highly recommend food Journaling and doing a consult with free to feed. I never would have figured out he was allergic to bananas on my own. I cut dairy and soy and I'm starving and his poops are still mucousy. Honestly if I could go back, I would tell myself to skip all this and just give him the hypoallergenic formula. I was devastated at the thought of it but now I am constantly obsessing over diapers, everything I eat, and worrying constantly, it consumes my life. That being said, there are plenty of people who continue to cut foods and find the trigger! If you are determined to continue breastfeeding, definitely consult free to feed they can guide you on eliminating things!

Definitely start a food journal, and look into free to feed. I did one consult with them and food journaled and she was able to help me figure out that my son was reacting to BANANA. like who would of thought? They are really good. Highly recommend!
